'Lost': A gentler Ben, Jacob's bad touch and more Arzt on Instant Dharma
The end of "Lost" is hurtling towards us all and there's no time for filler when it comes to the remaining episodes. Last night, I sat down with my friend, AOL TV's Maggie Furlong, and the extremely game celebrity DJ and "Lost" superfan Mike B. to watch the episode "Dr. Linus" and hash out our reactions for this week's dose of Instant Dharma.
A Ben-centric episode made us all happy, although opinions vary on whether or not he can ever truly change and find redemption.
Plus: Dr. Arzt, a useful Miles and Jack suddenly becoming Jacob's No. 1 fan. Check it out and for even more dissection of the episode, make sure to read Zap2it's own Ryan McGee's "Dr. Linus" recap.

Richard tells Jack that Jacob’s touch is a gift, but I’m not convinced that this is the case. It seems that every character that has been subject to Jacob’s touch has also been subject to a considerable amount of misery and torment on the Island. I'm not sure that Jacob's intentions are really that benevolent or are just self-serving in his own little game of backgammon.
The make-up on Roger "Workman" Linus was fantastic. Usually on tv shows, you come to expect something as bad as the stuff you saw put on actors not named Brad Pitt in Benjamin Button.
If anyone is interested, I go into more detail about this episode on my blog, including my thoughts on how characters' have behaved in the flash-sideways universe has coalesced with whether they have aligned themselves with Jacob or Smocke. Click my username or follow the link below:

Hard to believe these people are Lost commentators. How could Ben's mom still be alive? The Alternate Timeline doesn't begin until 1977 when the bomb detonated, at which point his mom was dead. It's like a letter Y. The timeline is one timeline until the bomb detonates, then it forks off. Everything "Pre-1977" happened and always did happen.
Kate is no one of the numbers
4 - Locke
8 - Reyes
15 - Ford
16 - Jarrah
23 - Shephard
42 - Kwon
Locke's name was crossed off the list (seeing as how he's dead). Alana said "six" still remain last night and at PaleyFest Darlton said that Kate is one of them, they just didn't get footage of her name on the cave wall.
Kate's number is 51 and it was not crossed out...See weird sundial wheel in lighthouse...
Regarding "Richard tells Jack that Jacob’s touch is a gift":
Actually Richard said that Jacob's touch is not a gift, it is a curse.
tribalism, I completely agree with your comment on Roger Linus' (Jon Gries') makeup. We can see a lot more in HD on a 56" television and it looked freaking perfect.
