Jennifer Hudson to sing CBS Sports 'One Shining Moment'
Academy Award and Grammy Award-winning artist Jennifer Hudson is used to getting her shining moment. But she just scored one more.CBS Sports announced Tuesday (Mar. 9) that Hudson has been picked to be the voice behind a new version of "One Shining Moment." The song that's become the anthem of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship is finally getting a feminine touch when Hudson becomes the first woman in the song's 24-year history to record it.
"This is the biggest honor to be the first woman to record 'One Shining Moment.' I am so excited to be singing such a great song behind the likes of Luther Vandross and Teddy Pendergrass," says Hudson. "The song inspires you. It moves you. It motivates you and helps you reach that goal and that dream."
On Apr. 5, about 40 million TV viewers across the country and over 71,000 fans at Lucas Oil Stadium will get the chance to hear Hudson belt out her new rendition of the song. That's when CBS will broadcast its annual video montage celebrating the Men's NCAA tournament and the newly crowned Division I Men's Basketball Champion.
