J-Lo may fall 'Overboard', Jamie Foxx to raise 'Kane'

jennifer-lopez2-getty-320.jpgJennifer Lopez is taking her Louboutins to the movies.

The starlet is negotiations to star in the remake of the '80s romantic comedy "Overboard," which had originally starred Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The Overbrook-produced film would revolve around a wealthy snob (Lopez) who falls off her yacht and wakes up in a hospital with amnesia. A carpenter who worked for her before takes advantage, telling her she's his wife, and so she goes to his rundown home to care for him and his many sons. Along the way, the truth comes out and romance develops.

J.Lo already has another romantic comedy coming up, "The Back-up Plan," which hits theaters April 23.

In other movie casting news, Jamie Foxx is in talks to star opposite Bruce Willis in the thriller "Kane & Lynch," based on a video game.

Foxx will play Lynch, a schizophrenic killer, who joins mercenary Kane (Willis) recover a doomsday device in order to save his kidnapped wife and daughter.

Overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell stands on it's own today, think of another vehicle for Lopez - why remakes something that doesn't need remaking. Lopez is no Hawn that's for sure and quite frankly isn't all that great an actress either!!!!

No! I can understand remaking a film from the '40's or '50's but do we really need to remake films from the '80's? I love Overboard and I agree, the movie stands fine on its own today.

remaking is ridiculous - look at Chris Rock's Death at a Funeral - remaking a movie that was THREE years old - and already hilarious!?!? I refuse to watch it....or this.

JLo must be desperate. And Tori is right: Overboard still stands well on its own.

It's a great idea can't to see who JLO picks as her co-star.
Jlo will do it justice she is a great actor, remember comedy is harder.
As for Hawn she was a giggling idiot in the 60's tv show, her daughter is more of an actress.

Jenny can do it all, she is simply put amazing.
Even though Hwood doesn't give her any respect.
Back-Up Plan is tracking very very well.

NOOOOO! We don't need a remake of Overboard. Won't watch it if it comes out.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

You can't remake Overboard, people! That movie is fab and as many here have said can ABSOLUTELY still stand on it's own. Any remake will just tarnish the original. =(

Why? Why?!

Buh, buh, buh, buh, buh...

That movie is a 80's comedy classic. Kind of a dumb story made great by the performances of Goldie and Kurt. This is ridiculous that someone decided to greenlight this remake. I hope it tanks.

Overboard is a classic that needs no new interpretation. Also... Jennifer Lopex SUCKS BIG TIME and has no business stepping into the shoes of the great Goldie Hawn!!! Stick her *** in the Smithsonian, then put her out to pasture.
