'Human Target': Mark Valley teases Chance's past, working with Lee Majors

mark-valley-human-target-320.jpgA big episode this week (March 17) for "Human Target."

What exactly is on tap? KTV scored some face time with star Mark Valley (Chance) and he gave us his take.

"We're going to find out a lot about the past," Valley teases in the clip below. "[The pasts of] Chi [McBride]'s character and Jackie Earle Haley's character kind of come into the mix, and where Chance started and how that past of his is coming back to haunt him in the form of this really wonderful actor named Lennie James, who plays a character named Baptiste, who is probably the best assassin there is out there."

Just how intense is it going to get?

"I was sore for like a week after that meeting of those two," Valley says. "They had some really intense scenes... and there's some fighting in it too. Some pretty rough and tumble stuff... I think he kicked my a-- to be honest with you, but Chance uses the old walnut every once in a while to get out of a tough situation."

And there will be a rematch.

"I feel like the audience is rooting for Chance to kick his a-- next time," Valley continues. "But then he comes back and, I don't know, I think it's kind of a draw. I don't know if I kick his a--... oh, no, I do get sort of helped out with that by Lee Majors."

Yep, Lee Majors. And as it turns out, Valley is a longtime fan of the former Six Million Dollar Man.

"It was [surreal to work with him]," he gushes. "It felt like I was inside the TV... The little boy in me was tearing around the house, screaming at the top of his lungs. And I had to keep it kind of quiet to do a pretty serious scene. Inside I was like [mouth opened wide], Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! Santa Claus! I just met Santa Claus!"

Don't worry, Valley got to tell Majors what a huge admirer he is after they worked together.

"He was like, Yeah, I could see it," Valley says. "'I could see it in your eyes when I first met you.' And he was so sweet about it, too."

Awww

Watch the clip below for more, though even just seeing the way Valley talks about Majors is worth a look...

They better bring the goods tonight, because Jonathan Steinberg said months ago we were learning more about Chance's past and ... yeah ... not so much. I'm used to the background of characters trickling out on shows like this, but the pace and the timing of it all seems ridiculous. With shows like this, audiences need a reason to keep rooting for the main character and they really haven't given us much to go on thus far.

I'm very excited for tonight's episode!

What are the chances we'll see the show get renewed?

I love this show so much! It's filling the action hero hole left by this season's 24... I really hope HT gets renewed for many more seasons!!

Fantastic show! Really different from anything else. I just hope it gets renewed.

HT has been a very pleasant surprise in delivering the entertainment rush that 24 (my other fave adrenaline show) has failed (for most of this season up until the most recent episodes) to provide. I've enjoyed the suprising comedic interplay between the characters (Winston/Guerrero mainly), and even though the character development/past reveals has been slow and piecemeal, there has been enough that I've been intrigued and I hope that the show will get picked up as I've been thoroughly entertained.

Am I the only one who sees a very strong resemblance between Lee Majors when he was on Six Million Dollar Man and our own Mark Valley?

really awesome that this show is fun and not as intense as Lost or Fringe. I can't have any more drama in my drama. Mark Valley should really be cast in the new Captain America movie. He'd be awesome as a foil for Robert Downey Jr. Hope this show gets renewed.

I love this show! Mark, Chi and Jackie have such great chemistry and are hilarious together. I have been waiting for this episode. I was so surprised and thrilled to see Lee Majors. I love everything he's ever done and he looked ABSOLUTELY amazing. I think he looks better now than he did 30 years ago. I just hate that they killed his character off so soon. Lee and Mark favor a great deal...it would great to find out later in the show that Lee's character was his real dad. :)Now about Lennie James, how have I not heard of him until Human Target? Oh, I now, I don't watch tv unless it's 24 or Lie to Me. Lennie is so incredibly talented it is insane. I loved Amy Acker as Katherine, great chemistry. Again, I just love this show...it's right up there with 24 and the Bourne series and that's saying alot for me. Kudos to Fox and Mark Valley-I remember watching him on Days of Our Lives and he's still beautiful. : )
