Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, new Autobot join 'Transformers 3'

A pair of Oscar nominees -- Frances McDormand and John Malkovich -- have signed on to be menaced by giant robots in "Transformers 3.""The Hangover" and "Community" star Ken Jeong has also joined the cast, director Michael Bay revealed on his blog Monday (March 22). He also noted that a new Autobot -- a Ferrari 458 Italia -- will make its debut in the movie, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters in July 2011.
Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox are booked to return for the third movie. Just what they, Jeong and "Burn After Reading" co-stars McDormand and Malkovich will be doing, however, remains top secret. Ehren Kruger, who co-wrote "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, is tackling the script solo this time out.
Bay says pre-shoots for "Transformers 3" will start in April. The movie will be a globe-trotting affair, with filming taking place in Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Florida and Texas as well as Moscow and locations in China and Africa.

say what you will about bay but he can deliver action. The seond one was terrible but it was bad more due to the awful script and not bay himself. the screenwriter responsible for it coming back is not a good sign
It depresses me that there's so little quality paying film work that actors of this caliber end up in dreck like this.
you can say what you want critics but dont say that did not have fun. dont spoil a fun movie. hey a grew up with transformers im old i have a son a year and half, but when he sees the robots, he's exicited and says "dadi bobots" be a kid and just enjoy the movie.
If the movie was so bad why did it do over 400 million box office, look it up. So what if the critics knocked it, everyone that I know enjoyed the movie and didnt care about the caliber but the adventure that they felt when they watched the movie. I personally cannot wait until the 3rd instalment comes out
How many Razzies was Transformers 2 up for? I was forced to watch this movie with my little cousins and uncle, and I absolutely hated it.
Yes, the black face that was veiled by two autobots was a great way to destroy... sorry, I mean save this franchise.
I like the new actors (sans Kevin) that they got for the second sequel. However, this could never be a truly depthful franchise. It has to be a blockbuster. Yet, it doesn't have to be subtly hateful either.
It never will be true, quality entertainment. Contrary to popular opinion, America is filled with uneducated masses. Let them eat cake.
Jenny — I don't know how many it was nominated for, but Transformers 2 won for worst movie of the year.
Firstly Transformers 2 was watched by everyone for the special effects, not the acting as there wasn't any acting/script in it. Secondly "Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox are booked to return for the third movie. Just what they, Jeong and "Burn After Reading" co-stars McDormand and Malkovich will be doing" is exactly as the cast did in the previous 'episode' and that is earning lots of money for running around in circles and not having to act at all.
No news yet as to whether Jar Jar Binks will be making an appearance!
hahahahah, why do dumb intelligent little mind in a jar critics, dont like a fun exciting and photo real robots for a movie!. The rest of the world liked and enjoyed the movie. You can say what you want and I will still wait for the 3rd installment. May be razzie like Bruno autobots in their plate.
