NBC has ordered up another season of the long-running soap opera, it was announced Friday (March 19). That sand in the hourglass must be indefinite.

"'Days of our Lives' continues to be a favorite of the daytime audience and we are thrilled to keep it going through its 45th season," said NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios, Chairman Marc Graboff. "'Days' has shown year-to-year increases in key female demographics and remains both relevant and fresh creatively."

"Days of Our Lives" premiered as a half-hour series on Nov. 8, 1965. It expanded to a full hour after 10 years. It's currently the third-longest running soap in the U.S.

Bruce Evans, Senior Vice President, Drama Programming, NBC Entertainment, added, "The producers, cast and crew have worked tirelessly to make 'Days' the ratings success it is today. Today's renewal is a true testament to all of their hard work. We could not be more delighted for them and for the multiple generations of fiercely loyal 'Days of our Lives' fans."

Yeah!!

Double Yeah!!

Was there or will there be a 'Days' tribute to Frances Reid? At least they should have one for the Daytime Emmies in June. Last year, the Daytime Emmies were on The CW. NBC should air it this year.

Yessssssssssss!!

There will be tribute on DOOL during May, bringing back some old characters.

Yahoo I have been watching Days since it conception in 65 & am more than pleased. Am looking forward 2 the tribute to Frances Reid! With other soaps being cancelled it's nice 2 have 1 being renewed.

I have not been watching days since GL and ATWT have been cancelled. Figure might as well stop now and try to get over the soap addiction.
Hearing this gives me hope and I will start watching again.

Thanks to ABC for renewing DOOL. This loyal viewer is relieved and delighted. Congratulations and thanks to the actors, writers, and staff

Excse me...I know this is an NBC show

Congrats to Days. Now, if NBC would save As the World Turns and bring it over form CBS. The 2 shows would be good companions an draw from each other.
