'Dancing With the Stars': Will Melissa Rycroft get co-host gig when announced live on 'GMA'?
Who will ABC pick to fill the dancing shoes of exiting "Dancing With the Stars" co-host Samanthta Harris? We won't have to wait long.Tom Bergeron will join his new "DWTS" co-host live on "Good Morning America" Monday, Mar. 8. ABC gave us a 2-hour time slot for the pending announcement, saying it could be anywhere between 7 and 9 a.m. ET.
Which, if Monday night's "Dancing With the Stars" cast announcement during the two-hour "Bachelor" finale is anything to go by, expect it closer to 9 a.m. ABC: they're like waiting for the cable company.
ABC has reportedly narrowed their replacement options down to former contestants Brooke Burke and Melissa Rycroft and ex-MTV VJ and "ET" correspondent Vanessa Minnillo.
However, there's been recent speculation that Rycroft (of "The Bachelor" fame) got the gig, since she appeared alongside Bergeron on Monday to announce the show's new celebrity lineup, and then Tuesday she tweeted, "Lunch with Tye, then heading to New York :-) (I'll be able to tell why soon, promise!)."
We'll get our next "DWTS" fix when it returns to ABC with its brand new co-host on Monday, Mar. 22. No eliminations for the first week of competition, but the stars better be on their dancing game by week two when the first couple will get eliminated.

and she's a kind of person who is alive. she's not corny as a correspondent. Good for her if she'll be the one who is chosen. I love Melissa. GOD bless you melissa.
The gig with Tom Bergeron could have been a live tryout for her. Brooke and Vanessa both have hosting experience. Maybe the producers wanted a chance to see Melisssa actually work live.

Really hope it's Melissa....I think she will be a good match with Tom, who is so witty.
1st, NOT Brooke, it was bad enuf watching her season. YUCK! 2nd, NOT Melissa. I didn't mind her season, but i don't like her as a host, she seems strained and awkward and not really witty, so if that is the case, then they may as well have kept Samantha.
Can this woman NOT stay out of the spotlight and has to endear even more than 15 minutes of fame? I mean, come on!

I agree, I will no longer watch DWTS if Melissa is named co-host. Why does she have to all of a sudden appear everywhere now? Just because she had an unfortunate experience on The Bachelor doesn't mean that everything should now be handed to her on a silver platter. Come on, ABC. This is getting outta control. Pick someone with actual hosting experience and who will make the show worth watching.
