Box Office: 'Alice' eludes 'The Bounty Hunter'

bounty-hunter-320.jpgTim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" reigned supreme for the third weekend in a row.

Bringing in $34.5 million, "Alice" stayed atop the U.S. box office. It's grand total now is at $265.7 million, so only $450 million to go before it catches "Avatar."

Coming in at second place was "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," which opened to $21.8 million, besting the Jennifer Aniston-Gerard Butler comedy "The Bounty Hunter" by $800,000. "The Bounty Hunter" opened to $21 million.

"Repo Men," the action movie starring Jude Law and Forest Whitaker (which is unfortunately not a sequel to the 1984 movie starring Emilio Estevez) took fourth with only $6.2 million.

"The Runaways," the Joan Jett-Cherie Curry biopic starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, opened with a weak $803,629, but was only released in 244 theaters nationwide.

Ben Stiller's "Greenberg" opened in only three theaters and pulled in $120 K, which is a good sign for the dramedy about neurotic man who sabotages his love life with his sarcasm.

The Top 10 was as follows:

1. "Alice in Wonderland," $34.5 million.

2. "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," $21.8 million.

3. "The Bounty Hunter," $21 million.

4. "Repo Men," $6.2 million.

5. "She's Out of My League," $6 million.

6. "Green Zone," $5.96 million.

7. "Shutter Island," $4.8 million.

8. "Avatar," $4 million.

9. "Our Family Wedding," $3.8 million.

10. "Remember Me," $3.3 million.

Wow, i guess Robert Patersons looks weren't enough to save Remember Me. My daughter went
to see it with some friends and actually walked out, she said "Ma, oh my god, he can NOT ACT!!" I said "told you so".

i never even heard of it diary of a wimpy kid.

Smitty is probably not in the demographic for wimpy kid. Think nerds younger than 12

Alice's reign comes to an abrupt end next week when How to Train A Dragon opens. That's going to be super huge.

Mama-What does your daughter think Mr. PATTINSON was doing in the Twilight series? And he ups his game by a mile in Remember Me. He was terrific. How old is she and why do you care.

I just want to know how many more flops does Jennifer Aniston get to make before studios realize we are sick of the sight of her?
