'Bones': Will Zack's name ever be cleared?
"Bones" fans were devastated when it was revealed nearly two years ago that Zack (Eric Millegan) was in cahoots with Gormogon, the serial killer who had terrorized the Jeffersonian gang for an entire season.
The fan-favorite character was subsequently shipped off to a mental institution and we've only seen him a couple times since.
The pain was slightly lessened when Zack later revealed to Sweets that he never actually killed anyone. But it's been over a year and Sweets is still the only one who knows this.
Now, Zack will of course be back for "Bones" upcoming 100th episode, but he will appear solely in flashbacks. So, we want to know, is there any chance "Bones" would have Millegan return to wrap up this present-day storyline?
Of course, we asked him about this as Millegan listened in, which led to Hanson jokingly declaring his dislike for the actor.
It's adorable. Take a look...
P.S. Since we talked with Hanson, we've learned that Ryan O'Neal (Max) will indeed be back for the 21st episode of the season. And executive producer Stephen Nathan has tweeted that Billy Gibbons (who plays Angela's dad) and Ty Panitz (Parker) will be back for the finale.

OH my gosh, I miss pre-Gormogon Zack. He didn't deserve to be bumped off that way. :( I can't wait to see Eric, Billy Gibbons, Ty, and Ryan O'Neal!
PS: Eric is flipping cute!!!!!!!
I hope Parker and max are there to enjoy a family dinner with bones and booth the couple :)

To be honest, I haven't missed Eric Millegan. I've rather enjoyed the rotating cast of lab assistants that they've been using. All are amusing in their own ways, and I like the way different assistants play off different characters, rather than having them all play off Brennan only.
Ryan O'Neal's return is most welcome.
I will state once again that before the writers went on strike, they obviously planned to make Sweets the killer.
This is evidenced by a promo I saw and taped, with Bones saying 'I got blown up'. This is a cute turnaround from the time Booth got blown up at her place. Imagine a killer who is versed in the good guys' psychology. This is the world before the writers strike. Much like the world before 9/11, afterwards is mainly crap.
Please, writers who used to be around before the strike happened, come back.
Or did you all go to Castle?
Circa the writers strike the show went to hell. The last part of that season was disjointed and poorly resolved. I get that the writers strike threw a spanner into the works still that wasn't an excuse for the travesty that followed - some shows came out of that period even better than before.
I adored Zach. I really hope they resolve that hanging thread of a plotline, blowing there in the wind.
Eric is freaking adorable! Love the little wave :) We miss you!
I think Zack's reveal to Sweets was the first time I saw Sweets realize the seriousness of his job.
Although Sweets knows that Zack didn't actually do the killing, there's even more to it. In that same episode Sweets wasn't there when it was revealed that Zack can't tell the difference between intentional and unintentional actions. Zack may claim he is responsible for his victims death, but Zack also claims that Sweets helped him escape from the loony bin, because he stole Sweets security pass. Sweets certainly did not intentionally help Zach with that.
(IIRC, this was the same episode where some guy with OCD thought he was to blame for someone dying, because he hadn't completed his OCD rituals.)
I agree, the fate of Zack cannot be left hanging. I want this show to have a happy ending for everyone, whether it be another 5 or 10 years away, and that includes Zack, even if it's not shown, just two lines saying that he's OK.
I want ZACK BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
