Betty White to guest star in 'The Middle' season finale

It's been a big week for Betty White! Hot on the heels of landing a much-hyped "Saturday Night Live" hosting gig, White has now been tapped to guest star in the season finale of ABC's "The Middle."The sitcom, which has been renewed for a second season, features Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn as a middle-class couple raising their three kids in a small town in Indiana.
White, who is described in ABC's press release as a "Multiple Emmy Award winner and social media sensation," will begin shooting the episode next week.
She'll play a school librarian who confronts quirky 7-year-old Brick (Atticus Shaffer) about hoarding overdue library books.
White's much-lauded career has been given a recent boost by online fan campaigns on Twitter and Facebook.
"The Middle" airs Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC. White's "Saturday Night Live" episode is scheduled for May 8 on NBC.
