Crystal Bowersox has been practically crowned the "American Idol" winner already by judge Simon Cowell, but she tells Zap2it it's still up in the air because now it's up to the American people.She also says that she's feeling good, she's healthy and she's just grateful to be there.
When asked if she'll ever lose the guitar and really surprise us, Crystal says, "I don't know if the guitar's gonna go away, but it might be something out of the box. And if I tell you, it wouldn't be a surprise, so... shhh."

I have a feeling Simon might want someone else to win. Why else would he practically deem her the winner unless he wanted the hordes of contradictory folks to come out of the woodwork to negate all the votes for her?
What was that site? Vote for the worst?
Are they still around?
This kid is so talented and soulful but I feel like Simon is messing up her chances! I'm sure with or without the crown someone will sign her, how can they not?
Idol has already vaulted Crystal above 99.9% of all the other young artists in her genre, so even if she doesn't win, I expect her to have very successful career. She certainly has the talent, the personality, and the looks.
She'll be fine whatever happens (and she's going to make the top 4 no matter what).
I think you guys might be missing the point. If Simon wants her out, it's because he will be able to sign her on his own label. It's a win for him because she's actually talented and can make money. It's a win for her, well, for obvious reasons. What people don't realize, the exposure warrants bigger contracts from other record companies.

She's great. I absolutely love everything about this girl.
How many Idol contestants who haven't won or been runner-up, other than Daughtry, have had successful careers at all, much less recording careers, based on their having gotten exposure on AI?? It's now season 9, so just looking at the top 5 from past years, that's 40 contestants from past years. Does anyone even know who came in 3rd during season 5 without searching the web?
Besides, even the winners don't necessarily do all that well afterward (I'm looking at you Mr. Soul Patrol!) And most of the runner-ups have disappeared into obscurity as well -- the chick who was runner-up to Fantasia, the dudes who came in second to Carrie Underwood & Jordin Sparks. What kind of success have they had? Where are they now?
So Crystal should hope that she wins because even then her success isn't guaranteed.
Jennifer Hudson won an Oscar, and Kellie Pickler, Bucky Covington, and even Josh Gracin have all had moderately successful country careers, Pickler being the most successful. I'm sure there have been more as well that have done well without reaching the top two.
