'American Idol': Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell fight for reals?
On Tuesday (March 16) night's "American Idol" performance show, host Ryan Seacrest came off the stage and leaned over the judges table to go face-to-face with Simon Cowell. Seacrest thought Cowell was not giving contestant Michael Lynche "constructive criticism" for his performance of Michael Lynche's R&B take on the Rolling Stones' "Miss You."When Seacrest couldn't get Cowell to say anything other than he thought Lynche was a bit "desperate," he decided to take it down to the floor just between the two of them (and a few million viewers), calmly inquiring, "I'm actually trying to help him out a little bit because I want him to stay in this competition. Are you all right with that?"
The tension between the two was revisited on Wednesday when Cowell kicked off the show by accusing Seacrest of being "aggressive" the night before. Fellow judge Randy Jackson agreed that it was "very hostile" while Cowell pressed, "Do you want my job? Because it felt like an audition."
Hmmm ... come to think of it, Ryan might make a great judge. Then maybe they could bring Brian Dunkleman back to host.

as Simon said "Desperate" looks like AI is getting that way because as this season closes, this show will have its "Jump The Shark" moment when they say goodbye to Cowell. So they must stir some Press to get people to watch and with No Simon on AI and his X Factor coming around the same time that ABC starts "Star Search" looks like AI is going down.
Most of the "spats" have had a bit of humor to them. However this time it seemed to be real and Simon seems to be showing the "disgruntled" side of himself which I feel is the dominate side of his character.
Bravo Ryan you were absolutely right - Simon was just being the bully he is.
I've never seen anyone who can legally belittle and berate people the with Simon does.
About time he gets over himeslf.
of course Idol needs viewers that's why they're making crappy little dramas.
The moment seemed awkward and inappropriate for the show.
Looks like Cowell showed his coward side Monday night. Some people sure lide to dish out insults but can’t take one
Simon fears nobody - he may be rude at times but SEACREST IS OBNOXIOUS ALL THE TIME
The show is going down hill, you can see Simon is bored and just finishing his time until his contract and this season is over. We are witnessing the end of the show time to watch the X Factor.
The spat between Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell is not about the American Idol show nor about ratings.
It's about Simon Cowell's latent display of power towards many of his American consumers. It disables him to chill out or to be less acerbic.
Here's my advice to Ryan Seacrest: "If you want to put food on your table, know your place and don't **** off this particular boss of yours from England."
Simon,
You are a complete plonker...
Really, do you have to show that you have a big one, in front of the world, and confront Ryan infront of the world. You might have started this bloody show, but your insecurity shows up man.
Did that give you some alter ego power, get over man, you are like the rest of world you get up in the morning and you deposit like the rest of us.
Ryan, you were a gentleman, to take it from him, as you did. Good riderance to bad rubbish, after this season.
You might have a lot of money, but unfortunately this cannot buy class, NEVER EVER!! AND this shows which side of England you come from.
In this video, Ryan "started it" with aggressive behavior toward Simon. If Ryan had called me "sweet" and then walked up to me and got into my space, singling me out and staring me down, I would have been tempted to teach him a lesson he would never forget.
And what made Ryan think, the previous night, that he had the right to try to coerce Simon into giving the constructive criticism that Ryan wanted to hear? Ryan overstepped his bounds. He is like a lion in sheep's clothing trying to subtly stake out his territory and attempt to overstep Simon in an attempt to become the "man" of American Idol. He's going to lose that battle.
