'American Idol': David Cook, Ke$ha to appear on results show

"American Idol" season 7 winner David Cook and pop starlet Ke$ha are set to perform on "Idol's" results show next week.The two artists both tweeted that they'd be appearing on the show, which will send the first of its 12 finalists packing on Wednesday night (March 17). Cook, who recently returned from a songwriting trip to Sweden, told his followers, "Oh and I brought a present back for everyone. We'll be performing on idol this wednesday! Be sure to check it out!"
Ke$ha's announcement was a little more, uh, succinct: "Party time american idol woot t minus 3 dayz."
If both Cook and Ke$ha perform, it could be a pretty crowded hour on Wednesday: Several reports also say that singer-guitarist Orianthi -- the guitar player for Michael Jackson in "This Is It" -- is also set to perform. That's all in addition to the cheesy group number, Ford commercial and elimination drama that are staples of "Idol" results shows.
The top 12 will sing Rolling Stones songs on Tuesday, and one of them will go home after watching Cook, Orianthi and Ke$ha do their thing on Wednesday.

I can hardly wait to see David Cook and his band perform they will really rock the house! I too would like to know why you chose this picture of Dave?? This was at the MJ Premier of "This Is It" and it was windy as can be there that night.
EVEN THOUGH I LIKE KRIS ALLEN AND DANNY GOKEY, IDOL JUST HASN'T BEEN THE SAME SINCE THE 2007 SEASON. SINCE DAVID COOK WON, THINGS JUST DON'T EVEN COMPARE. I JUST LOVE HIS VOICE AND THE DIFFERENT THINGS HE DID WITH EACH SONG. IDOL ISN'T THE SAME WITHOUT PAULA AND I DON'T LIKE ELLEN FOR A JUDGE AND AFTER SIMON LEAVES, THEY MIGHT AS WELL CANCEL THE SHOW. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING DAVID PERFOM ON LIVE RESULTS SHOW.
I agree, I normally love Ellen and love her show, but for some reason I don't like her on Idol... wierd. I love David Cook and agree that no one can live up to what he did on that show.. it's amazing for me to look back on his performances now and go Wow, he was amazing and no one has even come close to touching him... except Kris Allen and Adam Lambert are talented and came close. When David sings on the Idol stage Wednesday, it will be painfully obvious that none of those 12 contestants are anywhere near the same league as him. And yes, when Simon leaves the show, it's going to be hurting! And what's with Kara becomming Paula and leaning all into Simon and flirting with him... she was as cold as a fish to him last year! The only judge I love and can't wait to hear what they have to say is Simon. No one can replace him.
Will watch Idol to see David Cook. The contestants this year pale in comparison, and it will be painfully obvious when he performs. He is an amazing performer in a live situation and will show them how it is done. What's up with that picture? Why would you use it when there are hundreds of fantastic pictures of David available?
Seaon 7 Of American Idol was the best by far. David Cook is the best thing to come off that show Ever!!!! Can't wait to tune in and see him again. I was hoping he'd be on again this season but wishing it was later for Idol Gives Back. But, David can't be on Idol all the time. A girl can dream though....
It'll be great to see David Cook on Idol again. He was so good - one of the best winners they've ever had. Maybe he can show this year's group how it's really done.
