Watch Danny Gokey's live return to the "American Idol" stage with "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me."Following in the footsteps of fellow season 8 alums Allison Iraheta and Kris Allen, Danny Gokey returned to "American Idol." He regaled the audience with his new country sound on his hit single "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me."
Danny's album "My Best Days" dropped Tuesday, March 2 and feature not only "Ahead of Me" but several other authentic, fun country numbers. We particularly liked "Get Away" and "I Will Not Say Goodbye."

Actually, the whole album is pretty darn good.
I am a Kris Allen fan and I loved seeing Danny Gokey on Idol. I loved that song and Danny's performance. Good job Danny. I hope Ellen takes you up on your offer and puts you on her show soon.
Danny would do well to sing and not speak.
Danny seemed high last night. His super-speedy conversation with Ryan after the performance reminded me of a few coke-fueld rants I've heard before...
I think Danny was great, he was just overjoyed and excited, that's all.

Danny Gokey is doing great! I liked him on American Idol, his season, but NOW as a COUNTRY SINGER he is fabulous!! Love the new song, and will look forward to hearing the whole album.

To quote a Ruben Studdard song, Danny was "flying without wings!". Man, was he talking fast. SO different than last year...
Danny has loads of confidence, and swagger now. Coming back to Idol was like a home coming for him. He's like a kid and so excitable, but Danny's always been like that, and ya' gotta remember..he's coming out of a very painful loss. It takes a long time for the soul to heal. You have all only known him since Sophia's death. I've known him for years, and he's getting back to his 'old self' now. Good to have the old Danny back. God bless you dude.
