'American Idol': Anoop Desai's first single 'My Name'

"American Idol" finalist Anoop Desai is releasing his debut album titled "All is Fair" on May 4. Take a listen to the first single "My Name.""It's a pop record, but definitely influenced by a Bollywood feel," Desai tells People of the single, which hits iTunes Tuesday, March 23.
"'My Name' has a double meaning. On one hand, it's a response to kids that used to make fun of my name when I was little. I wanted my first contribution to be something that said, 'Hey, my name is now cool, not something to be ashamed of.'"
The 23-year-old North Carolina native co-wrote the song with fellow "American Idol" finalist Brandon Rogers, whom you may remember from season 6.

Dude, Anoop is the MAN! I have always loved the Bollywood flair and I loved Anoop in Idol. Perfect combo.

Cool makeover, but his new look in this photo does not appeal to me. Drop the glasses (We have to see the eyes!); Fix the asymmetrical hair. GREAT vocals, but the song does NOT work for me. The Bollywood sound is too generic. He needs more experience in the lyrics department. Good luck to him!

Focusing on the positive, I really like the music..the beat and the Bollywood vibe is cool. But some of the lyrics need an immediate rewrite.I agree with the other post, "toaster" really ?? not good.
Still, I like the feel of it enough that I might buy it.
