'American Idol': Adam Lambert performs on 'So You Think You Can Dance' Australia

adam-lambert-sytycd-australia.jpgIs "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert as popular down under as he is in the United States?

It appears so. Adam just kicked off an international tour, tweeting Thursday, March 4, "Thank you Australia for making my album #1 on your iTunes Pop chart!! I'm so honored! Looking forward to great week. Mardi Gras Saturday!!"

Lambert performed "Whataya Want From Me" on the Aussie "So You Think You Can Dance." We love the choreographed dance accompanying the performance, it really adds to it.

Lambert is scheduled to be in Australia until March 9, then he is jetting off to Singapore, Tokyo, the United Kingdom and finally Canada the first week of April.

Wow! Busy month! We wish we got to jet set all over the world. Guess we'll just have to be an "American Idol" finalist.

I'm still waiting for him to come to the east coast of the US to perform solo. The west coast and Canada had him and now International fans get him. I may be being selfish but would love it if us east coast people could get a concert. I caught the performance Adam did yesterday on Australia's So You Think You Can Dance. All the girls in the audience were screaming.

LOVED the two males dancing together on Aussie SYTYCD (and I'm no uber liberal, but come on people, is reality really all that scary to you, I breathe air everyday, some people are gay, same thing, normal). The international music scene will embrace Lambert, over time anyway, and then American radio stations will be scrambling to get Lambert's singles on the air! LOVED the interview w/ Lambert at end of appearance. **And to all you Lambert detractors who have liked to comment negatively about all the post-30 year old fans of Lambert (like that's a bad thing), watch the fandom on Aussie SYTYCD and the international scene - many, many young fans! Take a look at the Toronto press coverage from a while back, MOSTLY young people at those appearances. Read twitter and the blogosphere - constantly fans talking about their fandom of Lambert and then throwing in a comment about homework and going to classes and such... I have hated reading people (mostly bloggers so 'nuff said) write trash about this ONE elements of Lambert's fanbase - always wondered what they got out of being nasty about that?! Wanted to tear down Lambert I guess by any means possible, and I guess those haters thought a well-rounded fanbase was a bad thing. I'm 29, but even Lambert's post-40 fans know an amazing talent when they see one, so why shouldn't they go crazy over him. Rambling, sorry, but I've just hated that particular nastiness that has been on the net - but Lambert's fandom is going to go worldwide and emcompass all ages, and America is going to have to get used to sharing Lambert big time!

what an amazing voice this lad has! Welcome to OZ land Adam! See you at Mardi Gras Saturday!

He is perfection personified. How could he not kill it wherever he performs? The voice goes without saying, the passion in his singing which he makes you actually feel, charisma, kindness, charm, intelligence and let's not forget he is drop dead gorgeous. Amazing to me that all this is rolled into one package. We are so blessed to witness the making of this star, the likes of which only come around once in a lifetime.

I second emotion everything @MBI posted. The world has a bright new superstar. Anyone who has both rabid obsessed fans and addicted haters trailing you everywhere because both can't get enough of you, it's an absolute sign you are a LEGEND in the making. Just look at all the legends, Elvis, MJ etc. History never fails to repeat itself. Haters can go on hating but ADAM LAMBERT is unstoppable.

Adam was awesome today. The Aussies certainly loved him. Boo to the Americans!!!!!!!!! They are too homophobic for such a huge talent!!!!! Boo Boo Boo!!!!!!!!!!

This is a surprise cuz this is a 'promotional tour' meaing it was for interviews to promote his album. To do a performance is a wonderful surprise.

Please don't boo all us Americans. There are droves of us who adore his in all his glittery glory. And btw at his Indio comcert this last weekend the mix was 60/40 women to men and ages 8 to 89 he def has mass appeal. I think a lot of the world is waiting for him to tour.

Hey, we here in the Midwest are also waiting for a solo concert!! Don't forget us! And the Midwest is a central location to which MANY people from all directions could travel. Come back to Kansas City, Adam! We have a lot of different types/sizes of venues, from intimate to huge! (Remember the Sprint Center? It's brand new, too.) And please, guys, stop hating on us Americans - we love him soooo much! Don't judge all of us the same!! P.S. Adam, don't forget to come back to the U.S.!

Yes, please don't hate on the Americans. There are plenty of fans here that love Adam. A friend and I traveled 7 hours by car to Indio, CA to see Adam perform and his performance there was sold out. I adore him, I even joked if I was younger, I'd be a groupie, LOL. As far as performing on the East Coast, he has been there a lot, just did a concert in NYC. I think he will be giung everywhere, has a huge fanbase all over the globe. after watching him perform WLL in Indio and "killing it", (a good thing), I think the Glambert is unstoppable. I can't wait to see him again.
