Twitpic of the Week: NBC's Black History Month tribute in bad taste?

questlove-black-history-320.jpgNBC's Black History Month menu: Stereotyping.

Questlove wins Zap2it's latest weekly feature: Twitpic of the Week.

Twitter has allowed people to share not only their thoughts, but images of what's going on around them instantly and with a worldwide audience. Pictures of costumed pets, pretty sunsets and whatever people are eating abound.

Celebrities take the darndest pictures too. Many chronicle their lives, like when Kim Kardashian got a blonde 'do, Ashton Kutcher eyed his wife Demi Moore's bikini-clad booty or Lindsay Lohan went topless.

Neil Patrick Harris is a favorite of ours since he often posts twitpics of himself in his signature pose, pointing at friends or "How I Met Your Mother" guest stars like Carrie Underwood.

Questlove, aka ?uestlove of the Roots, snapped this picture at the commissary at NBC, where he shoots "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon."

questlove-black-history.jpgYikes! After the picture posted Thursday (Feb. 4) on Twitter, an NBC rep posted on their own Twitter feed: "The sign in the NBCU cafeteria has been removed. We apologize for anyone who was offended by it."

Offended? Well, we think it was an unfortunate labeling, but it's one of a long line of unfortunate things that's been going on at NBC lately. The menu itself looks delicious.

What say you?

I say black people have good taste in food! It looks yummy and we all need to stop looking for the unPC "gotcha" bogeyman every 2 seconds

i am SO offended by this...fried chicken and collard greens DO NOT go together!!!

turkey? maybe...

roast beef? okay...

pork chops? definitely...

hell, i'm more offended by NBC's weekly television schedule than a sign at the cafeteria, when they probably consulted with a southern black person for the menu, ANYway!

I'm from the South and not just black people eat this. Every race does. It's not a black thing, it's a southern thing. I am more offended by NBC's line up of shows or lack thereof.

A white guy here who LOVES fried chicken and collard greens. With jalapeño cornbread? Heaven!

It is unfortunate that NBC chose to pair that menu with Black History Month, because it does seem stereotypical, but there's nothing at all wrong with the menu itself.

And to whoever thought that collard greens and fried chicken didn't go together -- collard greens go with EVERYTHING.

Way to go NBC! You just keep pissing people off, your station is in great shape! Morons.

At least NBC can put a decent menu together.

Nothing But Crap!

I really don't get why food would offend people. If it was Robbie Burns Day would people get annoyed because they had haggis and shortbread on the menu? It's a stupid double standard. There are much more troubling things for people to worry about at NBC than this.

thats pretty funny, whoever came up with that menu should write for leno, maybe then hed get some viewers
