TV ratings: Good start for 'Lost' as 'Idol' tops Tuesday
Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010The final season of "Lost" opened to bigger ratings across the board than last year's season 5 premiere, helping ABC to a solid second-place finish in adults 18-49 Tuesday. The Alphabet still trailed FOX and CBS overall, though.
FOX led the night with 16.9 million viewers and a 9.3 rating/14 share in households. CBS was close second with 16.1 million viewers and had a slightly better household rating, 9.9/16. ABC (11.4 million, 6.4/10) came in third. NBC (7.9 million, 4.9/9) took fourth as its gambit of putting "The Biggest Loser" directly opposite "Lost" didn't really work. The CW (767,000, 0.5/1) was barely in the picture with a night of reruns.
FOX's 6.4 rating took the top spot among adults 18-49, beating ABC's 5.1. CBS, 3.5, finished third, followed by NBC at 3.0. The CW managed only a 0.3.

LOST has to be happy with 12.4 million I am a huge LOST fan and I was only predicting 8-9 million. I am sure some viewers will fall off next week but they have to be pleased with the that number. Also nice to see LOST take the 18-49 demo for NCISLA.
Plus another failure for NBC putting The Biggest Loser up against LOST....can they just fire everyone at NBC?
great episode of lost..great to see the numbers up from last years finale..
LOST is back. Can't wait when it ends.
Shut the **** up MEOH.Lost will never beat idol or NCIS. Just like V, LOST will slowly lose ratings after the premiere. Castle maybe good but it will never Own its time slot. You say the cbs shows are boring yet if they were on ABC you would be defending it.Get off ABC'S ****.
Don't feed the cat!!!!
I agree LOST might never beat NCIS or Idol in ratings but quality wise neither of those shows come close!!
NBC airing a show called "The Biggest Loser" is so poetic.
John what you should be ashamed of is being a guy and watching Idol.....
yay! I really didn't think Lost was going to get 12million viewers. I'm a huge fan, but after last season's numbers, I just didn't think it was possible. I hope the numbers don't fall off by much next week. Heck, I hope they stay the same or improve :D A girl can dream, can't she?? :D:D yay for Lost :D
Lost was so bad and dull last night, this show is going down hill, i bet it does not get renewed for next season.
