'Supernatural': Hope for a sixth season?

supernatural-s5-320.jpg"Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke has reportedly warmed to the idea of extending the show past its fifth season. If he decides to stick around, it sounds like he'll have a receptive audience at The CW.

CW Entertainment president Dawn Ostroff said at the show's 100th episode party recently that the network is "rooting for" the show to continue, and she had some rather encouraging words for the show's rabid fans.

"We all hope there's another season for the show," Ostroff says. "Based on the ratings so far and based on season they've been having, I think there's good reason to have positive hope."

As opposed to negative hope. But grammatical quibbles aside, Ostroff's words have to be music to "Supernatural" fans' ears. Here's more from her, courtesy of our buddies at CW Source.

Best news I've read all day. Second to the all-day marathon TNT ran today with old episodes. Ahhhhhh. Life is good.

I would only want a 6th Season if Kripke stays in charge of the show, and if the current myth arc is concluded this season.

Ahhh..ITA w/ u School
I am crossing my fingers..true only if Kripke is still at the wheel and all the great leads/writers too....of course!

I'm a fan of the show and I'm against it. This season was long planned as the final season and artificially extending the story arc is a bad idea. If they conclude the story in this season then season 6 will just be weird because where can they go after angels and demons, the devil and god? I think that serial shows like supernatural should have end dates (like Lost and British shows), and extending a serial series beyond it's logical conclusion just because you like watching it or it get's good ratings is wrong.

I'm all for another season, if only so they can go back in time, change the events that lead to the death of their parents and Sam's girlfriend, and when the show ends they are all reunited, and life the rest of their lives hunting free!!

boy, she looks like a blathering idiot.

This woman should not have a job in broadcast television ANYWHERE.

Oh, leave her alone. She's bringing back your show, isn't she? And she gave you Vampire Diaries, didn't she? So just shut up. Do you people always have to be so freakin' negative? How do you make it thru each day like that?

"So just shut up"
It's a very juvenile to tell people shut up for stating their opinion. A lot of people don't like Dawn, and it's nothing new. I don't definitely see it changing soon.I dislike her for the simple fact that she canceled 'Everwood' only to bring back 7th heaven for one season (Switched the date and time), and then cancel it again.

Season 6 will deal with the fact that Lucifer was only a puppet and after his death they must hunt down and defeat the REAL source of all evil ... **** CHENNEY
