Pilots: 'Battlestar Galactica's' Katee Sackhoff detects ABC drama

katee-sackhoff-getty-320.jpgKatee Sackhoff of "Battlestar Galactica" fame is giving pilot season another whirl.

The actress, who appears on "24" this season has landed one of the leads in Richard Hatem's crime drama for ABC, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The project centers on a detective (Sackhoff) who works with an ex-cop solving crimes and getting to the bottom of the mysterious circumstances that led him to be disgraced.

And although "24" hasn't finished this season up yet, the trade reports that FOX won't have a problem with Sackhoff taking on this role if the pilot goes to series. So, take that information about her character for what it's worth.

Sackhoff tried another drama pilot before, NBC's "Lost and Found."

She's been getting some awful material on this season of 24. Her storyline completely drags down the rest of the show.

I agree, Ken. The whole plot with her is just plain dumb. She always seems to have the same expression on her face.

I think she'd make a wonderful detective. Can't wait to see what the show does.

I agree that she's being wasted on 24. She'd be far better if she was actually out in the field with Jack kicking some a$$ instead of at CTU. Maybe it's because I was so used to her on BSG kicking cylon a$$. Hope her pilot is good enough to get picked up by ABC.

I agree totally. Katee is a good actress and deserves to have a better-written character.

Which season of 24 is she on? The season where terrorists are plotting to assassinate a government dignitary, yet our inept, grandstanding antiterrorist unit (rife with infiltration) recruit a reluctant Jack Bauer to assist the president and field agents to thwart the diabolical plan???
Is that the one???

Hey storyline sucks, so please let her go. Her story this season is bordering on the Kim and the cougar storyline for dumbness.

Kim and the cougar was better than this. At least Elisha Cuthbert is hot....

Eh, Sackhoff appeared in more than just the drama mentioned post-BSG. She had a brief but juicy role as the villain/rogue bionic agent in NBC's "The Bionic Woman" remake recently. OK, that wasn't conventional drama, more like superhero melodrama, but she played the heavy to the hilt. That was fun; she was about the only bright spot in that disaster of a show.

She also played a great uberslut in Nip/Tuck
