'One Tree Hill': Should the series return for season 8?
The CW announced on Tuesday (Feb. 16) the early pick up of five of their most popular series, but "One Tree Hill" was missing from the list.
"OTH" -- which has weathered its current season minus two of its original cast members (Chad Michael Murray, Hilarie Burton) -- has dipped in the ratings as of late.
Monday's hour attracted just 1.9 million viewers, but creatively, the show seems to be chugging along just fine, having introduced three new series regulars (Austin Nichols, Rob Buckley, Shantel Van Santen) who came with brand new story lines of their own.
The question is, does "One Tree Hill" have enough life left in it to keep on keepin' on?

Stay for a season 8! There are over 6200+ signatures on a petition for season 8!
Life Unexpected had ratings of 1.2 last week! Tough competition with Olympics and Bachelor!
Definitely keep One Tree Hill for an 8th and final season.
One Tree Hill season 8!
I have seen every episode of this show, but it is beyond time to pack it in. The new characters are mostly annoying and the old characters are trapped in the exact same storylines week after week. The show has run its course. If it wants to go out with a little dignity it should just end this season.
I really hope it stays on for an 8th season. At the beginning of this season I was a little skeptical with the loss of Lucas/Peyton and all of the new additions. However, this show has really evolved and I have found myself really enjoying the story lines. Please stay on for an 8th season!
Season 8!
Renew OTH for another season!
This show should have been canceled 2 years ago. IMO, it never recovered from when Dan shot Keith. Soon after, the show became depressing. The real life issues with Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush affected the on-screen chemistry and forced them to revisit the Peyton-Lucas 'romance'.
I started watching OTH about 2 years ago and I must say I like the show better without Lucas and Peyton. So, bring on one more season without them.
