'Lost' sets finale date: May 23
The end is in sight for "Lost": Mark your calendars for May 23, the show's last episode ever.Executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse announced the finale date during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Tuesday night (Feb. 2), following the show's season premiere. May 23, in addition to having the one of the show's fabled numbers in it, is also a Sunday, meaning that ABC is scheduling the finale away from its regular night, Tuesdays.
It also means that the network is planning to devote the whole night to the finale. ABC sent out an e-mail Wednesday saying it plans a one-hour recap special at 8 p.m. ET May 23, followed by a two-hour finale at 9. (For those of you counting, that's 109 days from Wednesday.)
Kimmel, who's a big "Lost" fan himself, also nerded out a little in grilling Cuse and Lindelof about the events of the premiere, asking them to identify whether numerous things were coincidence or something more. The full interview is below, in two parts.
