'Lost': 'Orientation: Ryan Station' makes its debut, Part 2

ryan dharma station 4 leaf clover.jpgBefore you continue with the series, make sure you read the initial entry explaining the new endeavor. Don't want to make anyone unnecessarily "Lost." Get it? Ah, I kill me. Sort of like the smoke monster kills anyone silly enough to shoot at it.

In this edition, Maureen "Mo" Ryan from The Chicago Tribune and I look at "LA X, Part 2." We analyze the show in real-time as it airs, so it's best (though not necessary) to watch the episode with the sound down low to follow along with us. So fire up those DVRs, head on over to Hulu, and listen along with us!

Let us know what you think of the commentary in the comments below!

OFF TOPIC (but possibly involving time-travelling conciousness!):

"Re '30 Rock'... Ryan, if you haven't listened to Baldwin's commentary on the Glengarry Glen Ross DVD, check it out. Made me understand why Fey has such a high opinion of him."

Weird... a few days after I made that comment, on Thursday February 4th, NBC airs a new episode of "30 Rock" which contains a scene ("Always Be Quiet" on the electronic screen) that is clearly a reference to his famous "Always Be Closing" chalkboard scene near the beginning of "Glengarry Glen Ross".

Remember that episode of Lost with Bai Ling in it? Yeah, this reminds me of that.

Mo, let Ryan talk more. We want to hear what both of you think.

Very interesting.
But I think we have to assume Sun and Jin are married (lack of wedding rings is irrelevant, as is her last name. In other cultures, marriage does not include these things. They are a Western thing.)
If you don't have everything the same leading up to flight 815(eg. Sun must know English), then the show just becomes silly.
They didn't 'hide' Claire's pregnancy - you just need to see both their faces in that shot.
I think the Japanese guy and turban guys were included so that they looked different from the 'others' from the fake fishing village long ago. They felt they had to add some extra oomph to this. It is ok with me as long as they don't push it further.
