'Life Unexpected': You Ask, I Answer questions on the series' chances of survival
"Life Unexpected": The best new series you're not watching or, um, are you actually watching it and we just didn't realize?
Hey Korbi, Thank you so much for supporting "Life Unexpected" with all your fun interviews and Q&As. It's quickly become my new favorite show and I just really want to know how it's doing in the ratings. I'm going to guess they're not great. -Jenna
Last I'd checked, the show pulled just 1.8 million viewers Monday night (Feb. 15), but a show insider just shared some wonderful news with me. It seems that The CW's decision to air the show twice each week is working out well for them. Apparently a whole new audience is watching the encore telecast on Wednesdays. If you combine the number of people watching on Mondays with the number of new people watching that same episode two days later, "Life Unexpected" has actually been averaging very respectable ratings. In fact, according to the network, approximately 5 million each week.
Can you tell us what the chances are of "Life Unexpected" getting a second season? If The CW cancels this show, I swear to you I will not watch the network again. -Magdalena
The CW, from what I understand, is quite proud and supportive of the show. Given all the critical praise it's gotten, combined with the info I shared above, I'm going to guess that "Life Unexpected" will most definitely get a second year. This is simply my gut feeling, but it's a thoughtful gut feeling. I truly think a renewal is in "LUX"'s future.
Korbi, how did it go drinking with Kerr Smith this week? I can't wait to see the video. -P
The most fun I've had on a Monday night in some time. Maybe ever. He brought Austin Basis (Math) with him and we, well, celebrated. Yep. Check back Monday for a glimpse into what went on...

YYYYEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!
Thank you Korbi! Good to hear.
woooo love this show!
LUX RULES!
I'm so glad you think they might get a s2. This show is amazing and I'm really starting to love the characters a lot.
Thanks for covering this show Korbi, you ROCK ;)
Even though all they are dead last in ratings by far...One thing the CW seems to do right that other networks don't is that they seem to renew or cancel shows based on thier own percieved quality of the show over the ratings it gets.
Well, except Veronica Mars...still as bitter today as the day it was canceled
I had no expectations for Life Unexpected, but it has turned out wonderfully...I really enjoy this series and hope they let it gel for a while and build ratings before pulling the plug in panic a' la NBC/ABC/.
It's a fresh idea, which is incredible enough, and the talent is fine.
Well, I hope they don't cancel it. It's the only show I watch on The CW!
When you combine the Monday and Wednesday viewers, Life Unexpected is the 2nd-highest rated series on the network, behind Vampire Diaries.
Monday is a killer night, with all four networks programming something that's highly viewed (unjustly, in some cases, but still).
The show needs to come back, and not as a "midseason" replacement. We saw how that worked with Reaper. People forgot about it....although the ratings still warranted renewal. This is a family series, a change of pace from the ridiculousness that GG and 90210 and MP have become. Better capitalize on it now, or it's back into the "spinning your wheels" rut. The critics love this show, and appararently 5-million viewers a week agree.
I'm loving this show so much, no one can imagine.
I was so sad with all the commentaries of cancelation that I just decided not to follow or look up to articles for internet anymore. I abandoned the fanbases and just enjoyed the show on tv.
This is my first article in a week and just because I like you!
This show MUST have a 2 ° season!!!!
And now that the trio action started I'm so excited, I really can't wait till this Monday.
I mean, I've liked the parenhood part a lot, but I was really hoping for the love drama to begin.
@TheDudemeister
Uh.. Veronica Mars is the patron saint of a show that lastedas long as it did because of critical reception. Face it, it was a great show but always the lowest rated one on broadca tv!
