'Life Unexpected': You Ask, I Answer questions on Lux's new love interest
Thank you, thank you for the "Life Unexpected" scoop last week. Can you tell us more about Lux's new love interest? -Maria
His name is Jones and you'll meet him this week. He's the quarterback of the football team -- the cool guy, if you will. Jones is someone who can make Lux feel like a normal teenager even though she's never really been one.
What does Lux's new love interest mean for the character of Bug? -Kelly
This is the beginning of trouble for Lux and Bug. Lux, wanting to get back at the bitchy high school girls whom we got to know last week, is going to offer up Baze's place for a party and this party will have her old life literally confronting her new life. When Bug shows up and sees her attraction to Jones, it won't be good. Both boys will be a big part of the remainder of the season.
Any "Life Unexpected" scoop? -Tammy
Liz says there's a very strong story between Lux and Tasha ahead. We're going to see more of Lux's desire to have Tasha find what she's found in Cate and Baze. Lux is apparently dealing with a tremendous sense of guilt at her own good fortune. Next Monday's episode (Mar. 1) will focus on Tasha's past and Liz says we're going to flash back and see the girls as they meet for the first time. Apparently the actors they hired to play little Lux and little Tash look exactly like teenage Lux and Tash and when we get a glimpse of their little faces, there's a good chance we'll just break down and cry.
Will "Life Unexpected" get renewed and what's coming up? -Campbell
Though the ratings have not been stellar -- everyone seriously needs to tell all their friends about the show -- "Life Unexpected" has a solid chance for renewal. But there's still so much more to come this season. We're going to see Cate really wanting to trade places with Baze and be the fun parent for once. Thing is, there's definitely something more serious behind the tension between Cate and Lux. Liz says that Baze isn't the parent who gave her up, he didn't even know about her. It was Cate who let Lux go and Lux is still struggling with that. There will be a period where the two are estranged because Lux just can't seem to fully forgive her. As much as we might feel that we've already gotten to know Lux, the truth is that she's a very guarded young girl and there's a lot she's not letting out yet...
Looking forward to seeing her let go. You too?

Thanks for that information and for promoting the show. I really love watching it and am waiting anxiously to find out if there will be a 2nd season.
Thank you for clarifying the thing between Cate and Lux. I'm tired of explaining this, once and again, to the rest of the fans!!! I can't stand Lux but her hatred for Cate, and not for Baze, is absolutely understandable. Cate GAVE HER!!
If they cancel this gem then I hope Dawn Ostroff gets fired soon. I really don't understand how that dummy still has a job when the she has done nothing to nurture this fantastic show. It is this network's only original idea that is worth anything. They renewed the unending stench of bad writing and bad acting that is "90210" and they can't decide whether or not to renew this diamond? There is NOTHING like this show on the 3 big networks or cable and to cancel it would be very stupid.
Cancel Dawn Ostroff, leave "Life Unexpected" alone.
Cate gave her up, yes. But, Baze DID know that Kate was pregnant and CHOSE to ignore it. Why should she get all the blame?
Wow. You people are vicious. Cate gave her up so that she could have a better life than the one that Cate could provide for her. I think that's the ultimate sacrifice. That's the most unselfish thing I can possibly imagine doing.
A more unselfish thing would be to not get in that situation in the first place. Either abstain from sex until you can handle the responsibilities or use a condom. Of course, only one of those choices works 100% of the time. Since this isn't an ideal world it's nice that Cate did have that option of giving her up, but I think what hurt the most was that Cate didn't even think of keeping her child. Baze just didn't think of anything and chose to remain ignorant of the whole thing.
They can't cancel this show. It's too good. I need a second season!
I agree that Cate actually did a very unselfish thing giving Lux up. She assumed she was giving her a better life, she didn't know how things were going to turn out... No one's saying Cate is a bad person. But Lux is a young girl who is having trouble separating her emotions and feelings from the truth of the matter. Who can blame her? Life isn't black and white... it's, uh, unexpected... and, wow, my little TV blog all of a sudden got real serious... ;)
another season please to pick up the steam or another 6 seasons
To my surprise, I find this show really good - interesting is a better word. Hope they do renew it - there's so much more they could do with it - tons. I like especially the actor who plays Lux - she portrays her character really well - like an old soul with lots of sad experiences in her young life. I also like that she gets a new love interest in Jones - like him better than Bug - who keeps pulling Lux down, back to their miserable past existence. As he can't stand - or accept - that Lux is getting a better life & future - and he wants to keep her in his miserable world - Whereas Jones would offer her a better prospective of her new life, without the sting of misery of the past life she had. Good moral issues here - great theme.
