'Life Unexpected': You Ask, I Answer questions on Lux, Bug, Tasha and the parents too
My inbox is pleased. It has received more than a few questions regarding the CW's new series "Life Unexpected" and it sounds as though you're loving it just like we are. Answers to a few of your queries...
I really enjoyed the storyline with Bug and Tasha and Tasha's boyfriend on the last "Life Unexpected" episode. Bug is soooooooo hot!! Is he going to be a regular part of the show? Please say yes. And what about Tasha and her bf? -Katherine
Show creator Liz Tigelaar tells me Tasha's bf, Gavin, will be back, but more toward the end of the season. Both Bug and Tasha, however, are a big part of the series. Lux's friendship with Tasha and her relationship with Bug will continue to be challenged because of the new life she's living and we'll get to watch that all play out.
But, Bug fans, beware. Liz says our girl Lux is getting another love interest whom she describes as a "Mini Baze." He's played by "Zoey 101" actor Austin Butler and he'll turn up the week after next. He's also very pretty to look at though, I think you'll be pleased.
Will we be seeing more of Cate and Baze's family? Cate's mom and sister seem like a lot of fun while Baze's dad is a jerk, but I found all of them to be an interesting part of the show. Also, do you know where I recognize Cate's crazy sister from? -Jeffrey
Cate's sister Abby is played by Alexandra Breckenridge. I remember her from Courteney Cox's FX show, "Dirt", but she's been around: "CSI," "The Ex-List," "Buffy," "Dawson's Creek" and the list goes on. We'll see a lot more of her toward the middle to the end of the season as well as more of Cate's mom Laverne (Cynthia Stevenson) closer to the finale. Cate's dad will surface too and he's being played by Peter Horton ("thirtysomething"). As for Baze's dad (Robin Thomas), yes, the two will struggle to work their issues out for some time.
Lux is about to get suspended from school for selling that sick -- I mean that in a good way -- bong lamp. Lux's principle, p.s., is played by Merrilyn Gann, whom "Everwood" fans will recognize as Rose Abbott.
Will Baze's friends get their own story lines? Seems the show will have to eventually deal with Math's crush on Cate right? -GilmoreFan53

I'm really, REALLY Surprised how much I enjoy this show. I wanted to watch at least the beginning of it, because of the Stars - Shiri, Kris, and Kerr. But since then, I'm hooked. I like how they portray Lux - thankfully, NOT as the typical stereotype weird & rebellious teenager, but a normal girl with good tendencies. Like when she bailed out Baze by giving his father her life savings - that's so cool. And that she's giving her new life a 2nd and 3rd chance, over and over - that's such a mature decision. Am looking forward to how the show will develop. Hopefully, as good as Everwood was. Still miss THAT show.
I'm also really enjoying this show. I do hope they move beyond the 'Cate screws up, Lux forgives her' stories soon. I know it has only been 3 episodes so far, but that pattern is appearing. I'm looking forward to some new interactions between the entire cast. Hopefully this show gets renewed.
More people should be watching this show. I am not a CW fan...like at all. But, this show has great potential and real heart. I hope it gets renewed for a second season because I could see success down the road for "LUX".
I'm so happy with this show!! I don't care about the teen action, but they don't suck, anyway. I'm just in love with the parents and all that storyline around.
BTW, I read somewhere today that they have highly chances of renewal, but for midseason, which honestly sucks! I find it hard to wait until Monday, and I don't want to imagine waiting till January.
More people have got to tune in on mondays to watch this show. I don't want a mid-season renewal I want a full season! I can't believe I actually look forward to mondays now!! And I agree with above poster the Lux made at Cate, Cate screwing up scenario will get played out too fast. It's understandable as one is trying to figure it all out while the other wants her to butt out but lets see more Lux/Cate bonding (shopping, talking, laughing etc).

Renew for MID-season??!! You've gotta be kidding me! If CW does that, they've killed one of the best shows they've ever developed, and people will be turned off. There are 52 weeks a year, and you think you can pacify us with 13 midyear episodes? Won't work. You didn't let it work with Reaper, and it won't work here.
Time to diversify the lineup, CW, and Life Unexpected can be a core show that brings some respect and different viewers seeking to rekindle the late, great WB feelings.
Please don't screw this up.
If the CW does renew Life Unexpected but waits for mid-season then it might as well cancel the show. It'll be a travestity as Life is one of the best programs the CW has on its schedule. It'll force the casual viewer whom might not know, to think the shows been cancelled.
I'll end by agreeing, the Cate screwing up (okay, sure she's trying without ever having to have been a mother so I'll cut her some slack), but it's getting old. She's part of an ensemble cast writers!
