Julianne Moore considers 'As the World Turns' return
Before "As the World Turns" stops turning later this year, it might bring back one of its more famous alumni.Julianne Moore, who played Frannie Hughes (and her sister Sabrina) on the CBS soap from 1985-87, is considering a brief return to the show before it ends in September. EW reports that while she's not expected to make a "significant appearance," she is in "serious talks" to reprise her role.
Other stars who have spent time on "As the World Turns," which has been on the air for 54 years, include Meg Ryan, Dana Delany, Martin Sheen and Marisa Tomei. Moore is so far the only famous alum to consider a return engagement in the show's final months.
Moore won a Daytime Emmy for her work on "ATWT" in 1988 and was nominated for a Golden Globe this year for "A Single Man." She's guested on NBC's "30 Rock" and reportedly turned down the lead role in the network's "Prime Suspect" remake; the project is being delayed while NBC continues its search for a lead actress.
