Howard Stern on 'American Idol': Dress Randy as sumo wrestler, make Carrie lose weight

howard-stern.jpgHoward Stern had some choice words regarding the rumors that he is being considered to replace Simon Cowell on "American Idol."

Stern addressed the various reports on his radio show Monday (Feb. 8). We listened to the audio, which has since been removed, but a transcript of Stern's show is here. (Disclaimer: Profanity alert.)

Regarding the rumors, Stern said they got started because it was Simon Cowell who said he wanted Stern to replace him. Stern is not going to comment about any talks he may or may not have had with FOX and that he "cannot confirm nor deny" the rumors.

The actual "confirmation" that other media outlets are talking about came via this statement Stern made: "There's not a better job on the planet than judging that f*****g karaoke contest. It might be possible, we'll see. They'd have to pay me a ton of dough because I already make a ton of dough."

Now if you've been a listener of Howard over the years then you probably don't necessarily consider that "confirmation." The only thing it's confirming is that Howard Stern would consider doing anything for a lot of money.

Stern went on to offer "suggestions" regarding how he would change "Idol." Some of the more "positive" and "tamer" ideas and comments were:

-- Dress Randy Jackson up as a sumo wrestler
-- Make Carrie Underwood lose weight
-- Fantasia Barrino looks like she "stepped out of a Haitian earthquake" and no little boys are fantasizing about her
-- Ask Ellen DeGeneres if he could borrow her girlfriend Portia DeRossi.

Some of Stern's more "outrageous" suggestions aren't fit for reprint on Zap2it, but an entire rundown of his radio show can be found here.

If Howard Stern is on American Idol I know many people who will no longer watch it. He is NOT like Simon Cowell and he is disgusting. That would be a very bad choice.

Howard Stern is a totally pathetic excuse of a human being. And the comments he made on how he would change Idol are totally disrespectful. He should be banned for life from all forms of media!

I agree with the above two comments. If Howard Stern replaces Simon Cowell on American Idol, I will boycott the show for as long as he's on. I used to like him before, but that wore off years ago. He should have no right to be part of that show!

No one could possibly believe that young folks would look up to Stern with admiration or as a role model. Fox Network is not stupid enough to contract with him.

stern is the man he would be awesome for idol

yes, it very very very disgusting. if howard F*****g Stern will replace simon. We wont watch Idol if it will make Stern teh judge. 1 bet my buttom dollar for that.

I love Howard Stern -- one of the few celebrities out there willing to tell it like it is.

If they get this idiot to replace Cowell and Degenerate and Kara are still on, say good-bye to this show after the season. Now I hope that X-factor show in the fall torches Idol and they get rid of this crapfest once and for all.

ROLE MODEL? This show isn't about the judges being ROLE MODELS. My GOD, a judge for the show should be someone that is a straight shooter, and Howard Stern happens to be that. I don't care who judges, as long as that person is honest with the contestants. Get over yourselves. Not watch the show my ***, If anything, it will definitely make the show that more interesting.

Keep in mind that Stern is a shock comedian. While I don't rule out him attempting *some* of the changes mentioned, it's likely a lot of his proposed changes are intended in jest, knowing full well the limitations of a regular TV network.
