'FlashForward' names new show-running team

flashforward-320.jpgABC didn't waste much time in getting a new leadership team in place at its freshman show "FlashForward."

Jessika Borsiczky, Lisa Zwerling and Timothy J. Lea will take over as showrunners for the series, which returns to the air March 18, an ABC rep confirms to Zap2it. They take over for co-creator David Goyer, who will still be an executive producer but gave up his day-to-day duties on the show last week.

The network has also reduced "FlashForward's" episode order by one, from 23 to 22. The later-than-planned return (it was originally scheduled to come back March 4) meant that the additional episode wasn't needed.

Borsiczky has been an executive producer of the series from the beginning, while Zwerling has been a co-exec producer and has written a couple episodes. Lea is a veteran of "CSI: NY" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," among other shows.

"FlashForward" has gone through a couple of changes at the top during its brief life. Goyer and Brannon Braga co-created the show, and Mark Guggenheim was hired as showrunner following the pilot. Guggenheim left in October, after which Goyer took over.

All these changes, delays and declining ratings suggest ABC will make this another "one and done" show. They did this with Life On Mars, Invasion, and probably will do the same for "V". I guess I was lucky LOST made it through all these years.
FLASH FORWARD will be gone in a FLASH, make book on it.

I agree with alan F. I had totally forgot about this show, I love this show, but sometimes it just going no where.....

FYI guys, if you have this show on your DVR. In every show when it finishes and there showing whats happening the next week pay attention there is a word in every show....

at least Lea has written for well-rated shows. can't hurt.

ABC's track record indicates that FlashForward will start getting better after it returns from hiatus, and just when it's hitting its stride, it will be cancelled.

I'd bet money on that.

I just hope that if the ratings decline and ABC decide to cancel it ... at least they give it a proper ending ... not like Eastwick ...

Replacing David Goyer is too little too late for ABC. They should not have hired him in the first place.

Goyer specializes in easy-to-hype movies that disappoint when you actually watch them.

For a TV show, you need not to disappoint...

Alan F has it it right on the nose. For some reason ABC feels the need to put some of their shows on hiatus and when they come back, the hype is gone and it is too late, the show is cancelled. Instead of doing the hiatus thing, In my opinion it would make sense to do seasons like Lost. Run a show September-November/early December then have a new show with show dates of February-May. If the reveiws are good, voila, you have a returning show or at least a mid-season replacement.
