Ellen DeGeneres keeps her day job through 2014

If this "American Idol" thing doesn't work out for Ellen DeGeneres, she has a pretty good fall-back plan.DeGeneres' daytime talk show will stick around through the 2013-14 season as a result of a deal struck between Warner Bros., which distributes it, and the NBC-owned stations that carry it in the country's biggest markets. There had been some speculation that "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" would jump to ABC stations to fill the void left when Oprah Winfrey departs broadcast TV in 2011, but the show is staying put.
"I'm so excited to sign on for three more years at NBC," DeGeneres says. "They were the ones that believed in my show from day one. So I'm thrilled to know I'll be here 'til at least 2014. Things will be a lot different by then. I won't be dancing over my coffee table anymore. Through the magic of 3-D, I'll be dancing over YOURS!"
The renewal adds three years to the show's life beyond the current deal, which was set to expire next year. "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" is tied for second among all syndicated talk shows (behind "Oprah") in the key demographic of women 25-54, and its ratings this season are up across the board over last year.
DeGeneres made her debut as an "Idol" judge this week to mostly good reviews and solid ratings.

She IS on ABC in the Boston-Manchester market! She debuted on the NBC affiliate, but then was switched to ABC!

OH.. PLEASE... I like Ellen Myself. But she isn't all that great on American Idol. She hasn't brought the chemistry to Idol that I had hopped. Personally And if you look at the whole picture, It took 2 people to replace Paula, And the show is still "Slumping" without her. I know thats not what Ellen fans want to hear, But don't give some-one credit that is just a shadow from some-one that can't be replaced and isn't as funny as she should be. I would say, " She is a rock on the show".
