'Desperate Housewives' exclusive: Julie Benz's stay on Wisteria extended
Benz originally signed on for a three-episode arc, but "Desperate Housewives" executive producer Bob Daily tells Zap2it exclusively that they're keeping Benz around a while longer.
"We've been enjoying [Benz] so much," Daily says. "We've extended her at least one more episode and possibly more beyond that."
As the stripper with the yearnin' for learnin', Benz's character guilted her way into Teri Hatcher's character Susan's life and then her home. Benz won't be sticking around Susan's place much longer, though. She's moving in on Dana Delany's Katherine (in more ways than one).
"Robin will be getting into a friendship," says Daily. "That maybe turns into more than a friendship with Katherine. Katherine has had kind of a rough year and I think she's open to new experiences. She's had a rough time with men. It's going to be a sort of twisty and turny conflicted relationship for her, I think."
Daily says Delany is really into her new girl-on-girl storyline. "[Delany] and Julie Benz have worked together before and were friends," he says. "She's really thrilled and enjoying the storyline."
How about you? Are you thrilled by the Robin/Katherine romance?

Benz is an incredible talent w/ angelic beauty though I'd love to see her turn into "Darla" and go a little "Angelus" on Wisteria. We'd all be better off.
Not at all.
Enough with all of the homosexual experiences on TV - it's getting to the point where you don't want to watch TV anymore. Do all of these TV shows really need all of these sex scenes!
that picture looks so odd- like they photoshopped poor Julie's head to be ginormous. Weird.
Gail - stop be so homophobic...or go to TVLand or Nick at Nite and watch old, dated "straight" TV shows!
No, I'm not happy about the girl - on - girl thing with Katherine. I have no problem with gay story lines but when they take a straight person and randomly give them a gay story - Grey's Anatomy for example - it feels like they are just doing it because they can't come up with something new.
I say bring it on although would much rather it be Gaby and Robin, I'd pay good money for that scene
i'm not sure that would work unless they make their gay relationship a 'normal' gay relationship that has typical relationship issues, which is what makes DH so entertaining. I love the gay couple (guys) because they're so 'normal' in the usual way rather than glossing over the fact that gay relationships have just as many problems as straight ones do. Katherine was better as a nut anyway - Delaney is a great actor. Whatever they do, I'm sure it will be done well.
gail, i think u should hop in ur time machine or wake up. u poor thing, having to watch so many 'homosexual experience' on tv. wow, ur a bigot. and u should really grow up and get over it.
Wow, the homophobia just pops right up.
1) I didn't think religious FREAKS like Gail were allowed to watch ABC, because ABC is owned by Disney and Disney offers health benefits to same-sex partners of employees.
2) According to the Bible, women aren't allowed to speak in front of a man, so Gail is condemned to hell for all eternity for even posting here.
3) We gays are taking over TV, so Gail better move to some Islamic country where homosexuality is illegal. I hear Iran is nice this time of year.
