Courtney Thorne-Smith woos one of 'Two and a Half Men'

Alan is going to get some action on "Two and a Half Men" in the form of Courtney Thorne-Smith.The former "Melrose Place" and "According to Jim" star has landed a recurring role on "Two and a Half Men," CBS confirms to Zap2it. She'll be playing a new girlfriend for the perpetually unlucky Alan (Jon Cryer).
There are, of course, strings attached: Thorne-Smith's character, Lindsay, is kind of a mess, arriving in the relationship on the heels of a divorce and with a teenage son she has a hard time handling. In other words, she's something of a female Alan.
There's no word yet on when her arc will begin.
Thorne-Smith, who also starred on "Ally McBeal," ended her eight-season run on "According to Jim" last year. She also starred in the Lifetime movie "Sorority Wars" last year.

Courtney is great. Despite what ppl that, the characters on According to Jim were good actors and made the show really good. Courtney was gr8 and funny and so was Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Andy (show name, forget his real name). Now Jim was the show, wasn't all that good, but certainly wasn't as good as the other three. I wish Kim and Andy act soon and I can enjoy some laughs from them. I don't watch 2 1/2 men, but will certainly check it out because of her. I can't believe ppl actually watch a show where the guy beats up a women and he can get by. Whereas everyone picks on Tiger for cheating, at least he didn't beat up any women....
So jay, a woman who has been drinking all night of the night in question and has since checked into rehab for drug addiction is a reliable source and sheen is automatically guilty? Like the open mindness
Am I the only one who loved "According to Jim"?? Not ashamed to say I did. The entire cast was great, including the 2 girls who played Jim's daughters. I already watch "Two and a Half Men" every week. Am excited that she's joining the cast!

This is great. Now I can hope that they will get rid of the Sheen and his girlfriend characters. I've stopped watching -- that woman is unbearable. I could watch According to Alan.
I'd change the name of the show to "The Trouble With Alan"
I like Thorne-Smith.
Bring back Mia and Kandi, and let Lindsay have relationships with both of them. Who needs Alan and Charlie?

I saw the episode of 2 1/2 Men with Courtney on it the other night. YUCK! How disappointing. I stopped watching that show a while ago because it's just heartbreaking. I was flipping through the channels & saw her on there so thought I would watch - I loved According to Jim and thought she was such a good mom on that show. NOT THE CASE IN THIS SHOW. How disappointing. I know there are people who live like that, but WOW what a change from A2J. I won't be watching again. The show has gotten even wranchier than when I watched it in the past.
