'Bones': Michael Terry talks Wendell, Angela and Hodgins too
Wendell (Michael Terry) has stepped in as Angela's (Michaela Conlin) love interest of late on "Bones" and fans of the show have had a mixed reaction to this.
Because "Bones"' viewers are so very passionate, I asked Michael Terry if he's getting bombarded with people's opinions of his on-screen relationship.
He says he's not, but series creator Hart Hanson has warned him: "Be prepared for people to hate you."
"I'm already prepared for that because I know that everyone loves "Hodgela," says Terry in the clip below. "You know, Angela and Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) together."
Terry is cool with that though. "You don't want everybody to like you. Otherwise, it's boring. You know,
I think that you need some people hating you and some people liking
you. So fans can get on either side and hopefully my side will be
bigger!" he jokes.
As far as long term potential for Angela and Wendell goes, Terry says he's not too sure, but he thinks the pair has a shot. Whatever happens, however, he's sure it'll make for great TV.
What he's truly hoping for, though, is some conflict between Wendell and Hodgins.
When I suggested a fist fight, he got excited: "T.J. and I were talking about that... we wanted like a big fight through the lab where beakers are crashing. I think that would be really good. Get a little aggression out, you know?"

I love this interview! And I totally think that MGT is right. If it's not meant to be, it's def great television. I'd so want to see a Hodgins/Wendell scene in the next Wendell episode. I'm not sure about the fight, but I am curious to find out who would win if they do fight.. *wink*
I would hate anyone who got in the way of Hodgins and Angela, but Wendell is so adorable. I hope he sticks around a while longer... though I do think Hodgins and Angela should end up together.
Do I want them to have it out? YES!
And really, people aren't blaming Wendell much. He tends to be the favorite intern, the likable intern. People are mostly blaming Angela. O_O
LOL A fight would be awesome and it could be a really funny scene with off-target punches and clumsiness, sort of like the 'fight' scenes between Darcy and Daniel Cleaver in Bridget Jones's Diary movies.
I haven't found myself liking Wendell less, also.
I don't like Wendell with Angela, but I don't dislike Wendell. He and Angela don't make sense in the long run, but Wendell kind of is in over his head. It's like he's the minor being corrupted (snort) and so is not responsible for his actions.
I'd love to see Wendell and Hodgins have it out. I used to Love Wendell, but when he went and started messing around with Angela it just... I don't know. I didn't like it.
Though I love Wendell I prefer Angela to be with Hodgins, who's her "true love". She herself told Hodgins that Wendell is not the men of her live, so get Hodgela together and leave Wendell to me (and so MGT, if he's interested)!
I love Wendell and Michael Terry, but I REALLY WANT JACK AND ANGELA TOGETHER! It's so obvious that they are so perfect together--that breakup was really stupid; they could've easily talked though it, they just rushed everything...again.
So, I want to keep Wendell, but NOT with Angela...I really hope they aren't the pair who gets married at the end of this season.
I know for sure that I'd cry.
The show has ruined Angela/Hodges for me by dragging it out too long and too stupidly (did the same with Booth/Bones too). Wendell/Angela has been a nice break.
I like Wendell as an intern (he and Mr. Nigel Murray are my favorites) but there's not much interesting in his relationship with Angela.
