'American Idol': Nicole 'Nicci Nix' Palmeri a reality show vet

If "American Idol" contestant Nicci Nix set off alarm bells when her Denver audition aired on Tuesday (Feb. 2), you're not alone. It seems there's much more -- or less -- to Miss Nicci than it would appear.Nix's story was that she has flown 14 hours from Italy to audition. Judge Simon Cowell admired her drive and also called her a "funny little thing," largely because of her helium-influenced speaking voice.
All four judges sent her through to the next round on the strength(?) of her "Something Kind of Ooh" performance, leaving us to wonder if she planned on returning to Italy between the audition rounds and Hollywood Week.
No one can stay hidden on the Internet though. Especially when in pursuit of fame.
Turns out Nix has been on several reality shows, including MTV's "Date My Mom," "Next," "Exposed," "Making the Band" and NBC's "Fear Factor." She also goes by the name Nicole Palmeri.
She even has a couple music videos on YouTube for little ditties called "Best X Friend" and "Sexcessful Virgin."

Interestingly enough, on Nicci Nix's official website, her Bio section is mysteriously blank.

I thought this was AMERICAN IDOL, not ITALIAN IDOL?
Well she come up with an original name. Nicci Nix sounds way too close to Nikki Six. And to me it's an insult to a man that has more talent in his pinky finger than she does in her whole body.

According to polls....Nicci Nix has the best chance in this competition.
NEVER has a judge given an audition (1 million %, 1 thousand % approval). This girl is phenomenol and will keep moving on each week. She most definately has a coach working with her. The walk and attitude is professional. She moves forward when speaking to a judge and then moves backward to her original spot. Watch the audition tape of her. I've watched it numerous timess. She will get better every week.
The audition tape speaks volumes on this girls candor and professionalism. She plays (I believe) 4 different instruments and sings. Randy Jackson has stated "this is one of the very best single performance auditions he has ever seen in AI."
When she nods her head...it's done professionally. She doesn't jump around like a teenager would. She will get the votes based on her performance and ability to win the audience with her style.
When she was asked her song choice...Simon responsded "Good Luck". It's a difficult song to sing. Nicci took a deep breath (you can hear it) and started to sing immediately with no problems. She wasn't stopped by the judges either. She knows what she is doing.... cool....
Her voice is great. And haven't you ever noticed how much lower your voice can be when you're tired? Or when you have a throat infection or bronchitis? Oftentimes, the more excited people are the higher-pitched their voice is.
And I agree with Greg D's comments.
I look forward to seeing more of her.
I have watched Nicci perform in front of many types of audiences...and she handles them all professionally. She has zero stage fright because she is extremely confident in her singing and dancing ability...Yes, she can dance so well too that it got Diddy's attention when Nicci was doing Making the Band in NYC.Now you will see the amazing Nicci Nix coming up in Hollywood and beyond...!!!
I think it's great she is professional and all but I don't respect that she is lying saying she came from Italy & all that, she's been on other shows with other names saying she was from different places, & then chose to lie to get sympathy (in my opinion) to get forth in the show, so if she does make it big she'll have to look back & know it was based on a lie, that's the only prob. I have with her, other than that yeah she is pretty good & professional
She didnt say she was from Italy..She said she just flew in from Italy.. Whats the big deal. I just flew in from Mexico but I am not Mexican. Dont be a hater..
Why criticize her for being on other shows.How lucky she is to have such an exciting life, and family support.Good for her, and shame on you!
As has been pointed out, she did not say she was Italian. She said she just flew in from Florence to Frankfurt to be there, which was Denver. That part may well have been true. The only question I have is how much of the "helium" in her voice was true. Her voice sounds much lower in the videos posted at Youtube, lower than her audition song with Idol.
