It takes an Oscar winner to pay the ultimate tribute to diva Whitney Houston.

"American Idol" finalist Jennifer Hudson took the stage for the BET Honors Monday night (Feb. 1) to sing Houston's signature song, "I Will Always Love You," which was written by Dolly Parton.

Besides showing off J-Hud's powerful vocals, the song also displays her control and vocal facility. Whitney goes crazy for the performance.

Wow, that is pretty harsh! To say all of those things about Whitney, hate all you wanna boo boo kitty, the fact of the matter is Whitney is back and she is on top and no one cares about Madonna old wrinkly **** ***! Jennifer sounded great and she loved it and no one cares about no damn DOLLY PARTON, she should have signed over that song long ago, for she did not achieve what Whitney did with that song!

Americans you certainly know how to DOG your people. There's no ending to the bitterness. And you pretend as if you love each other to the world.

I have always liked W. Houston. Now I heard Jennifer sing Whitney's one of her famous songs and I am impressed with her voice. To have Whitney get into her own music there, what a thrill for the both of them.

When Mary J. did her thing. I thought to myself she just set the tone. Then when Kim Burrell sanged her song. I said wow! she just raised the bar. Then out came the super talented Jennifer Hudson. She was incredible!!! She just stole the show as always with her super voice.

RE: Tony...

Whitney USED to be my favorite singer back when she was new, but she became too much of a diva and got too full of herself for me to take. Yes, she's still a great singer, but she's NOT back on top... she's just back. And "I WIll Always Love You" is Dolly's song, Whitney just happens to also sing it. And about Madonna, Whitney isn't quite in her league... at least not anymore (Madonna is up there with MJ, Elvis and the Beatles as a music industry innovator).

Again, Hudson is just a hyped-up karaoke singer who can do NOTHING ORIGINAL. She copies Jennifer Holliday ("And I am Telling You..." AND the role in DreamGirls) and now copies Whitney...

Anyone can mimic another singer - takes talent to make a song your own. Jennifer won't be able to do that. Now that she has no relatives left to kill (to bring attention to herself), what's she gonna do now?

Whitney is an American Icon...period. She like every other person in this world is human, thus we all have faults, imperfections, etc. To discount her status as one of the "GREATEST" singers of all time, is truly unfair. There are few, few, few singers, performers who can be put in the same category.
