'American Idol': FOX40's Paul Robins balks at Howard Stern

Morning show anchor Paul Robins for the Sacramento's FOX40  had a strong reaction to the rumor that Howard Stern could replace judge Simon Cowell on "American Idol."

Robins said Monday (Feb. 8): "If Howard Stern is on [American Idol], I will never watch it again. I don't care if it's our network -- if Howard Stern is on that show, I will not watch a moment of it."

Stern responded to Robins' response on his radio show: "I can't believe a guy in Sacramento is jealous of me. They just hate that I'm successful."

Robins' reaction is one likely to be shared by some "Idol" viewers. So do the "Idol" faithful have anything to worry about regarding Howard Stern? According to The Daily Beast's "Idol" expert Richard Rushfield, "Stern was never even being considered."



While many outlets were quick to jump on the "Howard Stern confirms 'Idol' talks" bandwagon, there were a few that suspected the only thing Stern actually confirmed was that he would consider doing just about anything if the price was right.
