2010 Winter Olympics: TV schedule for Monday

curling-usa-320.jpgHow many more ice dancing costumes can you stand? The Olympics are counting on more, lots more.

Monday (Feb. 22) will bring the conclusion of ice dancing in primetime, in addition to less frou-frou activities like ski jumping.

Also, if you thought that U.S. vs. Canada hockey game was intense, Team USA will go up against Canada yet again, but this time in curling during the daytime.

Hockey fans needing a little more aggression in their sports can also check out the women's hockey matches that head to the semifinal rounds.

Monday's highlights:

NBC

Daytime: Men's and women's cross country team sprints enter the semifinals in Whistler from 3-5 p.m. ET/PT.

Primetime: From 8 p.m.-midnight ET/PT, ice dancing comes to a close with Meryl Davis & Charlie White and Tanith Belbin & Ben Agosto hoping to medal for the United States. Also, freestyle skiing and ski jumping will get coverage during this block.

Late night: During the 12:30-2 a.m. ET/PT period, tune in for a recap of figure skating and a preview of women's figure skating to come, in addition to medal ceremonies for ski jumping and cross country. From 2-5 a.m., a replay of the primetime ice dancing, skiing and ski jumping.

USA

Men's curling sweeps through with the U.S. meeting up with Canada from noon-3 p.m. ET/PT. Then, the U.S. women's hockey team enters the semifinals from 3-6 p.m. ET/PT.

CNBC

Women's curling gets underway with Canada taking on Sweden 5-8 p.m. ET/PT, followed by women's hockey which heads to the semifinals from 8-10:30 p.m. ET/PT. Switching over at 10:30 p.m-1 a.m., watch the U.S. men's curling team meet China on the ice.

Why does the coverage have to start so late at night? You can pre-empt Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Please put figure skating on first and all together. I'm glad I have DVR so I can watch it at a reasonable hour and fast forward through all the commercials.

Because the US AND the world is on multiple time zones, the use of the DVR is a godsend! I wish I had had a DVR for viewing past Olympics. Having the schedules posted ahead is GREAT!

Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy is on a different channel... What good would changing them do???? wr>"

The coverage of the women's hockey game between the USA and Sweden on the USA network may be the worst of all time. The two announcer have spent twice as much time yaking about minor, ancillary factoids than they have describing the game! et someone who knows how to announce a hockey game

I do not recall having to deal with so many commercials during past Olympics coverage. This is the worst I have ever experienced having 3 hours of coverage with what has got to be over an hour of commercials. The DVR feature has made this palatable, but still very frustrating. showing the 30 minute celebration of the US Hockey team after beating Canada instead of final run of Bob Sled was ridiculous. Love Costas, but it stops there. One last thing could we blow off the ice Skating and show it at midnight so those who care can tape it.
