'Wall Street 2' trailer: Gordon Gekko is back
Even Gordon Gekko is feeling a bit of distress in these hard economic times.Check out the trailer for the Oliver Stone-directed sequel "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps."
The music, quick cuts and Michael Douglas acting like his badass self make the film look like a lot of fun. Oh, and make sure to check out the oversized '80s mobile phone.
Fun doesn't necessarily convey plot though, so here's a quick rundown. It's 2008 and Gordon Gekko has just been released from jail. There's definitely a bit of culture shock, but Gekko is still a money whisperer and can tell which way the financial winds are blowing -- towards a stock market crash.
Unfortunately, no one will listen to his warnings, so he finally gets help from his estranged daughter's (Carey Mulligan) fiance Jacob (Shia LaBeouf), who is looking for revenge after his mentor was killed.
"Wall Street 2" will hit theaters on April 23.
What do you think of the movie so far? Looking forward to it?

Not exactly on a mission from God. I don't want to be around when Gordon finds out Bud Fox traded the Gekkomobile for a microphone.
And here I'd hoped Oliver Stone had added the Geico Gekko to the movie. I might have gone to see that!
I can't wait!!! I ♥♥♥ Michael Douglas! And Josh Brolin :) Hotttt!!! Gonna be sooo good!!!
This could be either really good......or really bad. I hope it will be good, Michael Douglas is a BAD ***!!!
Hahn: Only in the mind of a media person does the idea that "quick cuts" make automatically for fun viewing can be found... :(
The real question is once again, why is Hollywood continuously sabotaging itself with endless sequels and remakes?
A great example is Avatar. Hollywood will produce more bad-CGI laden 3-D movies thanks to it ("becuase that's what audiences want"), but will ignore the fact that it was an original script (that apparently doesn't count)...
Low class dribble, too many re-writes. No-talent cast member too; Brolin..LeBeouf?!?? ugh... This could have been a good story, but it's been ruined. I'll wait for it to show up in the $2 bin at CostCo...
BTW - Avatar is NOt an original sript, it's totally formulaic and predictable.
It's about time. One of my fav's is returning. This should compliment present times with the gready bankers and financiers perfectly. I think they're still all in denial of what they've done and are comitted to continue doing where all americans are concerned.
