TV ratings: Decent 'Bachelor' premiere, but FOX, Fiesta Bowl win Monday

fiesta-bowl-320.jpgFast National ratings for Monday, Jan. 4, 2010

"The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love" landed with decent ratings on Monday, but FOX's coverage of the Fiesta Bowl carried the night.

"The Bachelor" had its best opening since the spring 2007 edition of the show, but the audience didn't carry over to "Conveyor Belt of Love," which fell off pretty sharply from its lead-in.

FOX won the night with 12.85 million viewers and a 7.6 rating/12 share in primetime to score a good-sized victory over CBS (9.4 million, 5.9/9). ABC's 8.5 million viewers and 5.7/9 were good for third. NBC (4.9 million, 3.1/5) finished fourth, and a night of reruns on The CW was way off the pace with just over 1 million viewers and a 0.6/1.

FOX also led the 18-49 demographic with a 4.2 rating. ABC took second with a 3.1, topping CBS' 2.7. NBC averaged 2.0 and The CW 0.4.

If you are going to rant and rave, then please get the networks correct. The football game was on Fox and not on nbc. ANd who are you anyway?? I see you here all the time with your inane comments. It sounds like you are a ABC corporate executive or something as you spin the ratings in directions I never would have thought of.

6.5 million American people actually watched "Conveyor Belt of Love"????

That is truly pathetic.

And The Bachelor should be titled, "The Bachelor: How many desperate chicks can Jake bang before he gets an STD?"

Gee Norm, jealous much?

Hey Tim, sell your overpriced video crap someplace else

Look how HORRIBLE Heroes did. Massive NBC fail.

ABC (Always Broadcasting Crap) offers up 3 hours of "reality" garbage, how sad, not even one real show. And, sadly, the shows they do put on treat women like second class morons ... wake up people and give these junk shows the boot.

@waxine:

um, not in the least. But obviously, you find that stuff interesting. All I see are a bunch of desperate women looking for any attention and one ***** of a guy lapping it up.

No surprise with NBC failing as usual but ABC's pile of garbage with this conveyor show just shows how bad network TV is really getting to be.

No surprise that Heroes had very low numbers since its audience is mainly male and would be watching the football game live instead. However you will see large numbers for Heroes when DVR viewing is included.

Large numbers for Heroes? Yeah right. And to Fake Me Out, How about NBC: Nothing But Crap and CBS: Constantly Broadcasting ****.
