TV ratings: CBS clued in to Thursday win
Fast National ratings for Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010"Grey's Anatomy" pulled in Thursday's best demographic numbers, but the show couldn't match "CSI" in the total audience race. The night as a whole, however, was nothing to write home about for the broadcast networks
Led by "CSI," CBS won the night with 13.4 million viewers and an 8.4 rating/14 share in households. ABC (9.7 million, 6.3/10) came in second, a little bit ahead of FOX (8.6 million, 5.2/8). NBC's 4.8 million and 3.1/5 was good enough for fourth, while The CW (1.5 million, 1.0/2), per usual, trailed.
ABC scored highest among adults 18-49 with a 3.4 rating. CBS and FOX tied for second at 2.9. NBC averaged 2.0 and The CW 0.6.

30 rock requires intelligent viewers.
@r.... you cant even type you full name, so stop talking foo.
Disappointing night for everybody (which gets to be a habit) except CSI which regained the crown from The Mentalist.
NBC's night in particular looked terrible as 30Rock once again failed to deliver (and it's not because people are stupid ;) )
At FOX, Fringe again failed to deliver in spite of a different night. When will the networks learn that J.J. Abrams is no magic producer when the numbers are gathered independently?
ABC is once again playing the demo card, but it (and journalists) should really remember that demos are irrelevant in the grand scheme of ad buying and that NBC played that game very well for years and still lost in what really counts.
Rena welcome back we missed your "detailed analysis" so much!!!!
go get a man rena, so sound like a bitter old vegas cougar.
rena is a know it all diva.
@dgh, thanks, I am setting up my own new tv site. ;)
The most significance point of thursday Rating for me is the poor rating that Grey Anatomy is getting with a new episode. A year ago GA rating used to be around the 20-23 million...A year after is only 12.7 million, thats a bad sign for ABC.
CBS has the best shows - kudoos. CW used to be my Fav network - when it was WB - but the new people there (Dawn or Dana somebody) killed it - totally. They bumped off Everwood, but kept One Tree Hill- how smart was that..?? Now I only watch Vampire Diaries on it, and an occasional Supernatural. Apart from those 2 shows, I'm done with it. Now CBS is my most Fav network. And SyFy. Keep up the good work, CBS - get your writers sharp, and you'll have me forever...!!
Rememeber when Thursday used to be "must-see" not too long ago? Where have all the people gone? Shows like CSI, Grey's Anatomy and even The Mentalist should be getting at least as many viewers as NCIS and American Idol, but they're lucky if they can pull in half that some weeks (only 12.7 for Grey's? pathetic). It can't be because the shows are bad, because they're not. There's also enough variety for nearly every taste, and yet the former powerhouse numbers the networks used to boast on Thursdays have gone elsewhere. Sad really.
Oh, yeah, and Zap2It's not-so-new-anymore platform still sucks.
