'The View's' Elisabeth Hasselbeck rocks 'NFL Live,' 'SportsCenter'

elisabeth-hasselbeck-nfl-li.jpgWe thoroughly enjoyed "The View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck on her turn on "NFL Live" Tuesday (Jan. 19).

We realize the men of ESPN's "NFL Live," Trey Wingo and Tedy Bruschi, were not exactly pelting Hasselbeck with tough analysis questions, but they weren't just lobbing her softballs either.

Some highlights include when Hasselbeck was asked to weigh in on new Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey and the fact that his job was a tough one to fill. Hasselbeck remarked:

In this economy, if a job been open that long, you gotta wonder about the job. Every single person [approached to be] on that staff is going to be having this conversation with their wife and family, "Hey, we're going to a team. It's in a really tough division. We're going to play the Patriots twice. We're going to see Miami twice. They don't have a really good market and the weather's kinda bad. What do you think about the move?"

That is not only decent analysis of the situation but got a laugh out of us too.

Hasselbeck also pointed out that Rex Ryan as head coach of the New York Jets used to work for Baltimore, so Peyton Manning and the Colts got a sneak peek at the Jets' defensive scheme when they played Baltimore this past weekend.

Finally, when pressed for her picks in the AFC and NFC championship games, she went decisively with the Colts and then said the New Orleans Saints were going to win due to "home field advantage, the emotional support there and Drew Brees' ability to distribute the ball."

Say what you will about Elisabeth Hasselbeck, but she knows her stuff. We found her engaging and charming on ESPN. Here's some video of a segment they did where Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Matt Hasselbeck competed to see who knows Elisabeth's husband Tim Hasselbeck better (Matt is Tim's brother).

And here's Elisabeth being interviewed on "SportsCenter."

Watch your back, Erin Andrews.

Look for Elisabeth's husband Tim to join the ladies of "The View" on Jan. 28.

Made me want to throw up...she is awful and so were her segments. If this was an attempt to garner female support, skip it. I would rather watch Skip Bayless WHILE jabbing needles in my eyes.

wish she'd go permanently to that channel!! (i mean leave "The View").

I just lost all respect for NFL live. 2 weeks before the superbowl. That's the best ESPN can do, I would rather have JustinTimberlake tell me how an NFL team runs. Wait I'd rather have to answer to signing T.O., Pac Man, Rex Grossman, Holmes and Star Jones at FullBack.

Thought she did great given sports is not her forte but her husbands. And way better to look at and dressed than most of the women whom work there, ugh - can you say fashion nightmare! Those ESPN women on Sports Center need lots of help - they all dress so manly!

I liked her on NFL Live. Would I want her on every single week? No. But compared to some of the special guests on the College Football Morning Show she did an excellent job (yeah it's not the real name, I forgot it). The actors, actresses, singers, and other sports figures they have on the show are often horrible with their picks and 'analysis'.

I'm glad Elisabeth did well... maybe this is sign that this is where she belongs. Her insights about Drew Brees are far more researched than her opinions on domestic and international issues.

Sorrym, Didn't watch it didn't want to, I see enough of Elisabeth on the View and I don't like her so there_---------------

The majority of people are taking the Colts to kill the Jets this week but you have to consider how well New York matches up against Indy. Indy has the worst running game in the league, and is ALL Peyton. The Jets have the #1 pass-defence and if they can put the clamps on Peyton early… it could very well be a Jets win. TheCoach isn’t calling a J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS win but they will cover the spread. I know Indy shut down Baltimore’s running game last week but the Jets strive on being quick and elusive.. something Ray Rice isn’t…

Minnesota and New Orleans is going to be such a good game. I was hoping all season long these two would meet up in the NFC Championship and honestly.. either team could team this game. The Saints are -3.0 favourites and historically home team get given three points for the home-field advantage… so basically this game is a pick-em and there is ONE thing that I like about the Saints and its that home-field advantage. Last week Warner and Romo combined for 7 sacks and 4 fumbles largely in part to not being able to communicate with their offence. The SuperDome is NUTS and I don’t care how much experience Favre has, the crowd can help a team and also hurt the other so much.

Feel free to check out my picks with scores (and of course cheerleader pictures) @ http://www.lionsdenu.com/category/sports/nfl-guide-2009-2010/

Best of luck to all this week,
Regards,
TheCoach

Try eating less salt and also will watching tv jog or run in place during cermercials. MY family did this

and we all lost about 10 pounds each month.Wish helpful for all!!!

It should be embarrassing for espn to have Tim's wife on. She's nit very likable. On the View she makes her husband sound like some awesome NFL QB when in fact he was a mere bench warmer and if it wasn't for his family name he's be washing cars for a living. Shame on ESPN.
