'The Bachelor' gets an all-star competition spin-off
ABC has ordered a "Bachelor/Bachelorette" all-star version of the dating show -- "Bachelor Pad.""Bachelor Pad" will pit former "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" contestants against one another in a "Big Brother"-style house format, ABC entertainment president Steve McPherson has confirmed to Zap2it.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the show was inspired by the real-life relationships former contestants have formed with each other. "Pad" will feature 20 previous contestants from the past 13 "Bachelor" and past five "Bachelorette" seasons.
Contestants will live in a house together, compete in challenges (sometimes inspired by events from past "Bachelor" episodes) and at the end of each episode someone will be eliminated. ABC has ordered seven episodes so far and "Bachelor" host Chris Harrison has agreed to host. The launch is tentatively scheduled for late summer, probably coinciding with the end of the next "Bachelorette."
We are a little alarmed at the amount of excitement this announcement brought us!

Ha ha, Andrea, I appreciate your confession at the end. I was reading the write up thinking "wow, I'm totally going to watch this." And, yes, I was a little alarmed myself :)
Heaven help me ... I actually think I may watch this!
Well, this confirms it. There will never be a female president...
Don't get too excited, Andrea. You know Fleiss - heavily scripted, manipulated and edited (see: Rozlyn and the "inappropriate affair" for reference - just 1 example of thousands).
I don't like The Bachelor/The Bachelorette, and I don't like Big Brother. I guess I won't like this show either.
