'The Bachelor': Details on 'scandal' emerge

A promo for the coming season of "The Bachelor" hints at high drama, as one of the women on the show says of another, "She's been having this sexual affair with somebody else in the 'Bachelor' house."

(We're not sure what follows qualifies as a "spoiler," but if you'd rather go into the show fresh, you should click elsewhere now.)

That somebody else, according to one report, is someone who works on the show. Usmagazine.com says that the bachelorette in question was caught having an affair with a member of the show's crew. No names have been attached to the alleged affair yet, but it's probably safe to assume the woman is someone who sticks around a little while -- it'd be sort of tough to strike up a relationship with a crew member on the first night.

As Zap2it's Andrea Reiher already reported, the "this season on 'The Bachelor'" teaser at the end of the season premiere also spends some time teasing the "affair in the house" story. And if you've watched "The Bachelor" in the past, you probably know how this is going to play out: Lots and lots of teasing of the scandalous details, accompanied by hyperbolic voice-overs promising "shocking" and "most dramatic ever" revelations. Tears, in possibly copious amounts. Shots of Bachelor Jake Pavelka looking pensive. A resolution that doesn't come close to the buildup.

You know, the usual "Bachelor" stuff.

"The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love" premieres at 8 p.m. ET Monday (Jan. 4).
