Rod Blagojevich joins 'Celebrity Apprentice'

rod-blagojevich-celebrity-apprentice.jpgFormer Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is trying his hand at a new job -- working for Donald Trump on "The Celebrity Apprentice."

NBC held a press conference last October where they announced the participants and has now given the go-ahead to reveal the cast, which includes Bret Michaels, Sharon Osbourne and Cyndi Lauper.

Blagojevich attempted to take part in last summer's "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here," but when a judge barred him from traveling to Costa Rica for the show, his wife Patti went in his place.

Blagojevich is currently awaiting trial for charges of conspiring to auction off President Barack Obama's U.S. Senate seat and campaign fundraising abuses. He will be playing "Celebrity Apprentice" for the Children's Cancer Center charity.

Blago told the Associated Press, "The conventional thinking among a lot of traditional lawyers is that you simply don't do these things, you don't say anything, you hide somewhere until you have your day in court," but his reaction is "to fight back."

Or he just wanted to hear "You're fired" from someone other than the state of Illinois.

The other 10 contestants are: Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks, pro wrestler Bill Goldberg, Olympic sprinter Michael Johnson, WWE model Maria Kanellis, comedian Carol Leifer, actress Holly Robinson Peete, Olympic swimmer Summer Sanders, comedian Sinbad, Australian TV chef Curtis Stone, and former baseball player Darryl Strawberry.

This season of the "Celebrity Apprentice" premieres March 14 on NBC.

Amazing how many of these people have criminal altercations...

Should be called Criminal Apprentice.

NBC is so desperate for attention they would give a show to OJ Simpson.

Well this is typical of NBC. Such a disaster is this network that this is the kind of person they get to be on their shows. But the sad part about it is people will watch.

I felt the show "jumped the shark" last year with the Joan Rivers senile meltdown - along with her ugly spawn, but this ices the cake for me. I will not watch. Typical Trump.

Face it- for all his business savvy, Trump is a "Celebrity Wh***". If Dennis Rodman was a regular guy drinking and straggling in late on the civilian "Apprentice" show or any Trump job he would have been fired before he entered the building. Carrie Prejean was Miss California a little longer than she would have been because she ended up getting more press than Miss USA 2009. If you got any type of fame you are welcome to play in Donald's sandbox where he will fawn all over you and put up with your ineptness until he has no choice but to fire you.

I will not watch due to Trump giving facetime to Blago.

I AGREE IT SHOULD BE CALLED "CRIMINAL APPRENTICE"
I AM SURE THEY COULD HAVE COME UP WITH BETTER CELEBRITIES THAN THEY JUST LISTED....DOES DONALD NOT HAVE A JOB VACANCY FOR THE REGULAR 'JOE' I AM FED UP WATCHING THESE SO CALLED CELEBRITIES....GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL IT WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN CELEBRITY APPRENTICE. COME ON DONALD OR NBC YOU CAN DO BETTER...I HOPE...IF THEY WANT TO GIVE TO CHARITY LET THEM DO IT WITH THEIR OWN MONEY...

Rod better watch his back, he was part of the chicago thugocracy running the country now, he knows too much.

yuck, no way won't be watching. don't feed the Trump's celebrity ***** machine!

I honestly thought bret would was going to be fired the first day, but he surprised me. well done

woo hoo bret! that was a really fantastic victory...and he looked great last night!
