NBC faces Conan Rally, snarky celebs at the Golden Globes
Conan Rallies are taking place all over the country Monday (Jan. 18), while celebs used the Golden Globes to trash NBC on its own dime.Monday, Jan 18 at the NBC studios in Chicago, 30 Rockefeller Center in New York and Universal Studios in Los Angeles rallies are taking place in support of Conan O'Brien, reportedly leaving NBC soon.
Meanwhile, at Sunday night's Golden Globes the celebrities had a field day taking NBC to task on its own broadcast. Some samples:
Julia Roberts: "NBC, you guys are in the toilet, right?"
Tom Hanks: "NBC said it was going to rain at 10 p.m. but they moved it to 11:30."
Tina Fey, on the rain: "It's God crying for NBC."
Julianna Margulies, in her acceptance speech: "I just want to say thank you to Les Moonves and Nina Tassler for believing in the 10 o'clock drama."
Host Ricky Gervais: "Let's get on with it before NBC replaces me with Jay Leno."
We almost wish this saga would drag on another couple months so we'd get more NBC-bashing from celebrities at the Screen Actors Guild awards and the Oscars. Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin could have a field day with this!

If they only attacked Jeff Zucker it would have been sweeter. Would have loved to carry a big sign out there on the red carpet and say "Fire Jeff Zucker now!"
Yeah, Jeff Zucker is the one responsible for all of this. Why NBC keeps him around is completely beyond me. So many people are blaming Jay, but it's not his fault. NBC and Jeff Zucker are the ones that are at fault.
Why stop with NBC? Hollywood is a target-rich environment. See, for example, ABC, CBS, Fox, etc., etc....
And last, and certainly least, don't forget Zap2it.
People are making a good point - that it isn't Jay's fault that Conan is choosing to leave. But, Jay is giving NBC an out...he's taking the show back (with feigned reluctance) giving them a way out of standing by their decisions. He's a punk, and is as much a part of the problem as the NBC exec boneheads who started the whole mess.
Give Conan some time!
So excruciatingly unfunny and classless backstabbing master Leno's going to get tonight show once again?
Nice going, America!
Interesting to see what NBC will do if Jay doesnt deliver the ratings! I would never watch the Tonight show again!
the lack of foresight by nbc is astounding ... in a year, maybe less, everyone in their right mind at nbc will realize (if they dont already) what a huge mistake it is to take conan off the tonight show in favor of leno or anyone else...
