NBA players donating $1000 to Haiti for every point scored Friday

pau-gasol-derrick-rose.jpgTen NBA players have pledged to donate $1000 to Haiti for every point they score in their Friday (Jan. 22) games.

The players taking part are all clients of the Wasserman Media Group and include Pau Gasol  and Jordan Farmar of the Los Angeles Lakers, Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls, Joe Johnson of the Atlanta Hawks, Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings, Antwan Jamison of the Washington Wizards and Danilo Gallinari of the New York Knicks.

The money will be donated to the Clinton Bush Haiti fund. So far $95,000 has been raised via the pledge and that is only including the point totals from Gasol, Farmar, Johnson, Evans, Jamison and Gallinari. There is no news on who the other three players are that made the pledge -- Derrick Rose's game tipped off at 10:40 ET on ESPN.

Let's hope last year's Rookie of the Year Rose has a big game.

UPDATE: Rose led all players in the Bulls-Suns game with 32 points, bringing the grand total up to $127,000, barring the contributions of the three unknown players.
