'Miami Medical,' 'Rules of Engagement' fill out CBS midseason

jeremy-northam-miami-medical-320.jpgCBS has put a couple more pieces of its midseason schedule in place, giving a Monday home to veteran comedy "Rules of Engagement" and putting its new drama "Miami Medical" on Friday nights.

"Rules of Engagement" will begin its fourth season at 8:30 p.m. ET Monday, March 1, moving into the spot currently held by "Accidentally on Purpose." Jenna Elfman's show will take most of March off, then move to 8:30 on Wednesdays starting March 31. It will take over for "Gary Unmarried," which will have finished its season by then.

"Miami Medical" (formerly called "Miami Trauma") will debut at 10 p.m. Friday, April 2, after "Numb3rs" finishes its season. The latest effort from Jerry Bruckheimer TV stars Jeremy Northam ("The Tudors," "Gosford Park") as the head of a team of surgeons at a South Florida hospital. The cast also includes Lana Parrilla ("24," "Swingtown"), Omar Gooding ("Barbershop"), Elisabeth Harnois ("Point Pleasant") and Mike Vogel ("Cloverfield").

The two shows join "Undercover Boss," which premieres after the Super Bowl and will air on Sunday nights with "The Amazing Race," and "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains," which premieres Thursday, Feb. 11.

Another lame Jerry Bruckheimer show. And about doctors, no less. Consider me unimpressed and uninterested. Enough medical shows!!!! Enough cop shows!!!! Jesus! CBS further cements it's place in my house as a "no watch network."

i'll join the comment saying enough medical and cop shows!

This show sounds generic.

If a network wants to revive the medical drama (ER) this is the worst effort.

Just the explanation sounds like Grey's Anatomy on TylenolPM

And I don't watch Grey's...

Can I approve pilots?

The suits suck !!!

CBS is wasting their post-Super Bowl slot. I'm not sure which tv series I would put there, but definitely not a lame untested reality show.

Although I tend to agree about the oversupply of shows revolving around cops and doctors, what other profession is suitable for drama shows? The only other type I can think of is something revolving around the military. Other than that, it is hard to think of another profession that a drama series can be about. These series typically involve exciting plots and people saving lives. Cops and docs are the two strongest professions for such shows.

Too bad that The Unit couldn't come back on NBC. I miss that show! It was different from the usual cops & medical shows. I am getting sick of TV. The networks want to save money so they go with unscripted reality shows or game shows because they're much cheaper to make. Anyone else sick of seeing Mario Lopez hosting dumb shows?

I've been waiting forever for Miami Medical to start. I'll watch anything with Jeremy Northam in it. He is a fantastic actor.

aaaaaaaaaaa

Waiting for you
