Lady Gaga on 'Oprah': Started in 'shock art'

Sporting some crazy spiky hair and purple eye shadow, Lady Gaga is her Gagalicious best on "Oprah" Friday (Jan. 15).Lady Gaga reveals that her name comes from the Queen song "Radio Gaga" (her birth name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta). She also talks about her rise through "shock art" into the center of pop culture.
After her interview, Gaga performs her hit song "Bad Romance." Awesome.

Lady Gaga is so weird but i can't help but watch and be fascinated...talent to back it up i guess. Seems like she has a plan for longevity and that detail alone, to me, hints back to Madonna with her in the day jaw dropping antics...I'm glad someone took notes. Well, at least took it to the n'th level! My interest is fading but she still has my attention...for how long - the music will tell.
I am so over Lady GaGa. She is extremely overexposed.
it was a pretty bad performance on Oprah. i'm not sure how much talent is there when you strip away all the antics. i think this first album got by on the antics, and like someone said above...her future music (i mean whether it's actually good or not) will determine if she has staying-power or NOT.

Lady Gaga is SICK and using blood and simulating suicide is absolutely horrific!! There is something VERY WRONG with her!! Don't let the media circus fool you. They always rehash talentless blond bimbos who shock people into watching. She has no REAL talent and will not be remembered a few years.
Lady Gaga's album is actually better than most Madonna albums. Her act also is refreshing. Besides that she's very popular with young kids.
So for somebody who has no talent, as suggested by some, she's doing really well.

I think that Lady Gaga is a beautiful example of living as your "authentic self" and she gives the world permission to do so as well. Her intelligence and performance messages are incredible. The love she has for her fans is inspirational. I absolutely love her voice, her presence in this world, and the amount of energy that she gives to her art, as she truly is an artist. It is an honor to view here here, on Oprah, or auditorily on her CD...which I am very fond of. Keep up the wonderful work, my dear...you are magnificent in your own special way...making the rest of us feel that way too! Peace, CJ
