Jimmy Kimmel spoofs Jay Leno, Chevy Chase does Conan

Despite being on ABC, Jimmy Kimmel jumped into the NBC late-night fray by performing his entire show dressed as Jay Leno.

Equipped with grey wig and prosthetic chin, Kimmel addressed the NBC fiasco, including Conan O'Brien's refusal to go gently into that good late-night.

In the opening monologue, Kimmel-Leno said, "Hello, my name is Jay Leno. And let it hereby be known that I'm taking over all the shows in late night, beginning with ['Jimmy Kimmel Live!'] It's great to be here on ABC. You know what ABC stands for? Always Bump Conan.

Conan O'Brien today announced that he is leaving NBC. He released a statement today that said, 'I won't participate in the destruction of the "Tonight Show."' Fortunately though, I will."

Check out Jimmy:

He also mocked Leno's signature "Headlines" bit:

And finally, "Community" star Chevy Chase got in on the action by donning a red wig and playing O'Brien:

dear jimmy kimmel and your network. if you are going to block your videos in my country could you at least link to wherever i *can* see it?

cause now i'm annoyed at you and even less likely to watch you.

that is all

I agree, sassinak. Gee, you would think with thousands of Canadian performers in LA alone that they would have some inkling of how their shows affect us. Although this is not the first time a video has been blocked, the very idea of it is appalling. And I agree that I am less likely to watch a show that snidely asserts "your country is unworthy of seeing our videos."

Uhh, networks do that including CBC---We get the same thing down here when we try to watch Canadian content online. It just happened to me again trying to access the rest of the Defying Gravity episodes: "Your region blah blah blah." Now if I were an insecure person like angloo, I'd read that as "Only superior Canadians are allowed to view this content, nobody else is worthy." Sound stupid? Yeah, you did.

Very creative.

Hey Ras, as a lifelong neighbor of Canada I can assure you its just more whining from our pretend "friends" from Canada. Massive inferiority complex coupled with constant slams of the US as they hide behind our military and feed off our economy. I'm sick of 'em.

@SASSINAK an article I found discussing this subject-

"...Canadian producers make money selling online rights to their shows in other regions. "We don't want the Americans to see it," says Goldsmith, "not because we don't want them to see it, but because it could jeopardize a business deal that's important to the health of a good producer."

It tells you how to get around the block. SO QUIT YOUR WHINING AND DO A LITTLE RESEARCH. YOUR WELCOME.

@Rasmussen- "Only superior Canadians are allowed to view this content, nobody else is worthy." Sound stupid? Yeah, you did."
Couldn't have said it better myself. Yet they think they sound rational when it comes out of their mouths.

i love that leno's legacy is being tainted by all this. he had the oppurtunity to do it right and retire on top, but he had to ruin it by puttig on that lame prime time show and now showing how much of a selfish untrustworthy *** he is by being a part of nbc's absurb attempt to push back the tonight show. seven months ago he was the king of late night and now he's being mocked by jimmy kimmel and the world, sometimes people get exactly what they deserve.

Go watch the Kimmel stuff here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fc7ONwgfY7U

Boy people sure can be jerks when the old "why can't we see it?" argument comes up. Fact remains I'm a viewer and I'm a consumer. I don't care whether some suit in LA or in Toronto isn't making enough money. If you block something we'll find a way to find it and you lose. If people want illegal downloads and the like to stop they need to realize it's the World Wide Web and they cannot win if they do things like block content. It's not just Kimmel's show. This goes for the BBC, the CBC, the XYZ and the giraffe with his cable access show in Uganda.
