Jimmy Kimmel on Jay Leno on 'Oprah': 'He's a tattle tale.'

jimmy-kimmel-jay-leno-show-2.jpgUPDATE: Video of Kimmel is below.

Jimmy Kimmel fires back at Jay Leno after Leno's appearance on "Oprah."

On Thursday (Jan. 28), Jay Leno told Oprah that Jimmy Kimmel's impersonation of him and subsequent jokes in the 10 @ 10 segment were "a sucker punch."

Jimmy Kimmel took to his opening monologue to respond, starting with, "Excuse me if I look like I've been crying - it's been an Oprah-whelming day for me." It just gets better from there.

Kimmel goes on to tell his audience that following his impersonation of Jay Leno during the Jay Leno-Conan O'Brien late-night wars, Jay Leno called him the next day to say he thought the bit was funny and then Kimmel was asked to participate in Leno's 10 @ 10 segment. Except the producers didn't want to ask Kimmel any questions pertaining to the Leno-Conan debacle. So Kimmel took things into his own hands finding a way to make most of the questions about NBC's mess.

"If I made any mistake, the mistake I made was thinking Jay would have anything other to say than what was written on the cue cards. I figured he'd get into it and mix it up. You know, at one time he was a comedian. But he just stood there, kind-of reading through the questions like a robot and then goes off and rats me out to Oprah."

"That's a sucker punch right there, he's a tattle tale. Oprah and I had a wonderful relationship and now it's ruined because of Jay. And by the way, watch out Oprah, don't think he won't take your show next. Anyway, I don't know whether this attempt he made at damage control will work, but it is fair to listen to what he has to say."

The entire monologue is pretty great. Have a look

Kimmel just needs to STFU. He's not funny either. Chelsea Handler, now there's a funny lady. Chelsea Lately is the best late night talk show there is. I usually laugh so hard I cry at least once per episode.

Kimmel is a total jerkwad

Who cares about that drunken skank on the E! network with a talk show (as opposed to the other drunken skanks on E! with mere reality shows)? Kimmel should be treated like a hero for providing further evidence of what a useless, hacky, soulless robot Leno is.

Unfortunately for Mr. Leno and his bosses at NBC, critical reaction to his Oprah appearance shows that the story of their recent programming debacle just won't go away. And their endless explanations don't seem to be helping much, either, as they tend to raise further questions.

For any readers too young to recall - or maybe just not interested in late night TV, at the time - it might help your perspective on the current Leno vs O'Brien mess to read some background on the original Leno vs Letterman feud. Here's the full story of how Jay Leno took over the 'The Tonight Show' hosting gig from long-time host Johnny Carson, way back in 1993.

Who said Chelsea Handler is the best?!?!? Get a clue. The only thing she is good at is sarcasm. SHE'S A ONE-TRICK PONY. NO TALENT NEEDED FOR THAT YOU MORONS. There's a reason she is on E! I'm guessing you are entertained by the Kardashians also? You sound pathetic.

Nice... 4 comments so far and 3 of them are personal attacks.

lol
didn't notice Elvis there... make that 4 out of 5.

Kimmel needs to just go away. He's by far the worst late night host and his only funny bit is the unnecessary censorship and even that isn't that good. Jay handled that exchange with class when he easily could have done the opposite.

Jay Leno is either delusional, disingenuous, or the most egotistical late night host ever. His assertion that "everyone should have a show, and the best one wins" perpetuates the fallacy that "most popular equals best". If that were true, then McDonald's is the best food ever devised, the contestants of American idol are the most talented performers America has to offer, and Garth Brooks is more talented than Bob Dylan. If you agree with any of those, then you probably should choose to watch Leno, who showed a stunning lack of humility and empathy in his Oprah interview.

Chelsey Handler??? UGH.

Anyway, Kimmel has a quick wit that Leno can only dream of having. Btw, Leno clearly had his balls removed at one point.
